Job Description Summary
This role is responsible for sales and opportunity management of the Vascular Access devices within the Medication Delivery Solutions (MDS) portfolio to Hospitals in Alberta and Saskatchewan. The focus of this role is account management, qualification & development of strategies to close sales opportunities of key products offerings and services. The Account Manager is accountable for the execution of the go-to-market strategy, the delivery of sales targets, and ensuring positive customer relationships.
Develop and implement strategic plans by working with members of the sales, marketing and clinical teams as well as maximize hospital contracts within the assigned territory.
Manage and negotiate product validations, product conversions, and sustainability plans
Translate the strategic marketing and regional sales plans into account-specific plans by leveraging the product value propositions to achieve targeted sales and growth
Work closely with the BD Clinical and Regional Sales Teams to provide clinical end users with technical and best practice solutions for Vascular Access devices including Central lines, PICCS, Midlines and Peripheral catheters with a heavy emphasis on Patient Outcome and Healthcare Worker Safety.
Establish and develop strong relationships with key decision makers and committees within the hospital.
Ensure a high degree of awareness for BD’s portfolio to all hospitals, within assigned territory.
Become the customer subject matter expert to deliver win/win solutions
Lead account planning initiatives (forecasting, funnel management, sales process rigor, strategic planning calls)
Uncover and provide competitive information and market insights
Expense reports, internal and external communication, conferences etc.
Education, Skills & Experience
College Diploma or University Degree completed is Mandatory.
MSc and/or MBA would be considered an asset.
3-5 years of Medical Device Sales experience in an Acute Care environment required
Strong business acumen coupled with a high level analytical capability
Excellent communications skills both orally and verbally
Proven ability to build strong Customer Relationships
Strong Presentation and influencing skills
Ability to manage a complex Sales Environment including multiple projects
Experience in Interventional Radiology (IR) considered to be an asset
Must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time (including overnight travel).
