Job Description Summary
The Marketing and Communications Manager is part of a team responsible for the marketing and promotion of BD Biosciences Research Informatics products. These software products are used by researchers across the world contributing to critical advances in medicine and life sciences – from immuno-oncology and COVID-19 to diabetes and neurology.
The successful candidate will bring experience in marketing to a collaborative cross-functional environment in order to help define, drive and maintain downstream marketing activities. While working in a matrixed environment, the associate will support both regional and direct to customer marketing through campaigns, events, projects/programs, and content creation. This role is jointly accountable for multichannel marketing plans and activities, including digital campaigns and trade shows.
The successful candidate must have a track record of strategic execution; someone who can help craft and manage global marketing programs and tactical communication plans on tight deadlines and with limited resources. The successful candidate will also need to partner with other functions including global and regional product managers, global marketing communications, tradeshow/event staff, digital marketing, e-business and sales teams, to create and maintain the integrity of the communications process, and be a team player who can meet the overall goals set by the company, marketing and sales.
Collaborate with functions throughout the organization in achieving commercial goals and supporting the progress of the business and the brands
Help develop, execute and measure go-to-market and annual marketing plans for the informatics platform
Help develop, execute, and measure comprehensive digital marketing strategy for the informatics platform
Drive content creation of engaging marketing materials working closely with Product Managers
Propose and execute new customer experiences and marketing concepts
Manage trade show and customer-site event execution, including budget, through collaboration with Global Marketing and Product Managers
Monitor and coordinate social media posts/accounts with the Marketing department
Research and report marketing metrics for management
Desired experience and skills:
A Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, marketing or relevant scientific field.
Marketing experience, for example, digital campaigns, trade shows, asset creation, CRM management
Strong preference will be given for experience with marketing in the life science industry and/or with marketing software solutions
Strong creative perspective to bring fresh ideas to our marketing campaigns in a collaborative manner.
Ability to rapidly absorb detailed product information and translate it into correct messaging to be used across all tactics.
Strong critical thinking with a desire to consistently improve processes
Strong attention to detail and excellent organization skills
Excellent verbal and written communication
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
Ability to prioritize and execute a variety of objectives and clearly communicate progress and roadblocks
Willingness to ask for help and adapt based on feedback
