BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) Senior Financial Analyst in Ashland, Oregon
Job Description SummaryReporting to the Finance Manager, the Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for the accounting function of a US entity based out of Ashland, OR. The Senior Financial Analyst is an integral member of our team and will provide analytical and strategic financial support to the business. Responsibilities will include; preparing accounting and tax related transactions, performing month end closing activities on time, preparing financial statements, management reports, and ad hoc analysis as needed. Interacts with business and corporate functions, shared service centers, customers and vendors as required. Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangible variables. Exercises independent judgment in developing methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Responsible for all accounting activities including, but not limited to, the General Ledger, AR, AP, treasury, payroll, fixed assets and intangible assets.
Responsible for month end close including preparing and posting month end journal entries, preparing and submitting financial statements for consolidation.
Applies accounting principles to business transactions and participates in business decisions
Resolves accounting discrepancies and reconciles general ledger accounts
Assists in the development and submission of annual and budgets and quarterly projections for Balance Sheet and Income Statement accounts.
Work with Leadership on presentations to review financial results.
Prepares variance analysis for actuals against budgets and forecasts
Responsible for managing indirect taxes including sales, use and property taxes.
Completes routine financial reports and statements (i.e. monthly, quarterly, taxes, etc) and assists in the development of complex reports and business cases.
Prepares schedules for annual federal and state tax package and responds to inquiries from tax consultants or Corporate Tax as appropriate.
Completes other information requests and reports (census, tax, etc.) required by Corporate and government agencies.
Display a broad understanding of financial markets with the ability to provide perspective on potential impacts
Assists all financial and tax audits, working closely with auditors to assist in the resolution of audit problems.

Knowledge and Skills
Excellent knowledge of US GAAP
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
Experience working with financial systems such as SAP Everest 6.0, HFM, SAP BPC, and QuickBooks.

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required, MBA or CPA a plus
Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial analysis
Strong financial analytical skills
Ability to draw strategic analysis from large data sets
Master of Microsoft Office
