Vascular Access Devices, a sub-business unit of Medication Delivery Solutions, focuses on developing, manufacturing, and distributing high-quality medical devices used by clinicians throughout the worldwide healthcare industry to access a patient’s vasculature. Our devices assist in the delivery of chemotherapy, blood products, antibiotics, and nutrition.

This position provides Quality Assurance with inspection functions that will comply with company standards and Good Manufacturing Practices. Assures that the procedures are complied with, product is properly handled and proper records are maintained.

The following duties and responsibilities are intended to be representative of the work performed by the incumbent(s) in this position and are not all-inclusive. The omission of a specific duty or responsibility will not preclude it from the position.

  • Works from Q.C. Plans, following prescribed sampling plans, inspection methods, specifications, drawings and established standards.

  • Performs visual, dimensional and functional inspections on a wide variety of products and components.

  • Reports non-conformances to the Quality Assurance Lead and discusses corrective action. In addition, follows-up to see if corrective action was effective.

  • Determines whether product is acceptable or rejectable, initiates rejection notices, and maintains accurate written records of the inspections performed, including the results.

  • Recognizes conditions outside their specific areas of inspection which require action and refers the items to the supervisor.

  • Monitors compliance to G.M.P. in employee working areas and reports infractions to Quality Assurance Lead for corrective action.

  • Employee evaluates both the product and process, making decisions on subjective visual inspections. Responsibilities have an impact on product quality, productivity, and product costs as affected by internal and external costs of rework, scrap and product warranty.

  • High school diploma or GED

  • One to two (1-2) years related Quality Control experience or equivalency

  • Demonstrated human relation and communications skills

  • Ability to withstand repetitive motion and to lift up to 50 lbs

  • Must be able to read and comprehend English

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Six (6) months related experience in a manufacturing environment

High school diploma or GED

One to two (1-2) years related Quality Control experience or equivalency

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit and use hands to manipulate, handle or feel objects, tools, controls and office equipment. The employee frequently is required to talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel or crouch.
