Job Description Summary

The Global Marketing Manager will develop market positioning and support the Media Core Microbiology (MCM) Business unit “Go to Market Strategy” to clearly communicate the platform’s system wide portfolio value proposition and competitive differentiation. By conducting customer based research and working closely with cross-functional teams including marketing managers, solutions team and regions to understand customers’ workflow needs, the global Marketing Manager will support the global business line leader in developing value-based messaging to articulate the Microbiology portfolio value and utility in context to the customers’ environment.

Job Description

This position will be an integral part of the MCM marketing and Product Management Team, responsible for driving downstream and upstream marketing initiatives that support our growth objectives. Responsibility will include defining, developing effective positioning, and content to articulate Micro’s value across customers in addition to supporting product launches, sales training & education, developing go-to-market strategies and generally building and executing global product commercialization plans in conjunction with regional marketing teams. Position will also require a close partnership with global operations and OEM suppliers to ensure continuity of supply for all products within the portfolio

The role reports to the MCM Global Business line Leader, Microbiology, and establishes and maintains a world-wide communication network with regional product and solution marketers.

  • Key responsibilities: Leads, develops and implements global marketing initiatives and programs.

  • Identifies new market opportunities, develops, implements and manages communications related to Microbiology products and system solutions

  • Responsible for managing a comprehensive marketing plan and content development for the Microbiology portfolio

  • Initiate, develop and execute global marketing plan to increase market awareness, enable effective selling, deliver differentiated value to our customers and meet business unit financial goals.

  • Works with Solution Team to develop system solution messaging and positioning that will differentiate products in the market and identify how they address customer needs. Create internal and external positioning documents focused on the clinical and Industrial market articulating the financial benefits of our solutions.

  • Develop and deliver sales tools and training to support regional marketing efforts. Executive level and end client facing power point presentations and formal communication

  • Communication to regions of product availability, continuity of supply issues and general product management responsibilities

  • Strong relationship with global operations to ensure continuity of supply

  • Effective communication of product forecast working with global regions, planners and supply chain

  • Leads, develops and implements global marketing initiatives and programs.

  • Identifies new market opportunities, develops, implements and manages communications related to Microbiology products and system solutions

Qualifications & Competencies

  • Marketing Communication experience creating and delivering value based messaging, branding campaigns and new market expansion campaigns

  • Must have excellent communication, presentation and writing skills and be comfortable communicating across various levels of stakeholders from executive suite to departmental representatives.

  • Excellent written and spoken communicator, responsive, persuasive, and polished.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Graphic experience preferred.

  • Demonstrated success with customer campaigns and market shaping activities

  • Experience developing, cultivating and effectively managing website

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in marketing communications and product management or equivalent experience

  • Bachelor's Degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
