Provide Pre and Post Application support to Flowcytometry customers in Southern region

Job Description


Position Title: Application Specialist

Business: BD Biosciences, India

Reporting to: Branch Application Manager or National Application Manager

Qualification: Postgraduate: MSc/MTech or above

Experience: Three years after post graduation with at least one year experience on flow cytometry (essential)

Five years after post graduation with at least three years experience on flow cytometry (desirable)

Location: India –any region as required

Purpose :

  • Responsible for providing Instrument and application training to BD Bioscience customers for assigned territory (a state or group of states)

  • To support the Regional Sales Team in identifying market opportunities and assisting to actualize market potential.

  • Executing market development activities in alignment with national BD Bioscience marketing strategy in order to increase organizational productivity


Providing Application and Training Support

  • The position is responsible for effecting Instrument and Applications training to customers for increased productivity

  • To attend and timely resolve customer queries on BDB products and related applications.

  • Inclined to learn and improve technical knowledge and skills on existing and new BD Bioscience products.

  • Assist in training programs for Sales Managers and channel partners in the assigned territory for better understanding and positioning of BD products

Marketing and Sales support

  • Co-ordinate and support awareness activities such as seminars, conferences, workshops etc in alignment with marketing strategy.

  • Conduct routine product demonstrations to prospective customers for building value to positively impact sales and increased productivity.

  • Support the sales team by making basic technical presentations in the assigned territory.

Monitor and report

  • Prepare and provide report on technical support and progress made to the supervisor as required. Ensure timely submission of post-installation training and evaluation reports.

  • Continuously track competitor activity and actively scan the market environment for developing trends and practices and emerging business opportunities.

  • Tracking of customer feedback on product quality and escalating product issues to appropriate authority within the organization


  • Synergize and co-ordinate within business segments for timely and operationally lean delivery of on-site instrument training for a high level of customer satisfaction.

  • Work in coordination with sales, service and other application associates towards achieving the business objectives.

  • Support a culture of constructive feedback and continuous improvement within the organisation

Unique knowledge and skills

  • Previous experience and demonstrated competence in flow cytometry and related applications (essential)
