MMS Infusion is looking for a Database Architect who has passion for learning, developing high quality, customer focused and impactful SW products. You will be responsible for developing a deep technical understanding of Infusion connectivity product, interacting with other Teams and Lead Architect, evaluating their systems, and designing product integrations. The position will act as a consultant within Connectivity internal teams to help create architectural approaches for software design and implementation to guide the development team. This is a hands-on database development and administrator position. Lead by example, adopting a "whatever it takes" approach to get the job done, while nurturing a sense of camaraderie, success, and appreciation among the teams. The ideal candidate will bring new insights, creativity, and perspectives to the organization.

Position Summary:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Drive discussions with technical stakeholders to uncover strategic needs and align on key technologies

  • Establish systems and solution design in large, sophisticated, data-intensive systems

  • Partner with external teams, evaluate architectures, and make recommendations on implementations and improvements

  • Act as an individual contributor (Hands-on Developer) to implement designs with application teams.

  • Conduct POCs on new technologies and build vs buy analysis to determine suitability of tech stack expansion.

  • Familiar with basic SQL Server maintenance routines, such as backups, index and statistic maintenance, performance monitoring, etc.

  • Responsible for all aspects of database administration for SQL Server including implementation efforts for large and / or complex projects.

  • Provide operational excellence as well as efforts for continuous improvement of database related processes and procedures.

  • Responsible for ensuring high levels of data availability and database performance.

  • Tunes and optimizes SQL Statements, Instance Parameters, and Data Storage, including the identification of performance related issues

  • Work in a complex environment with very large, highly secured datasets

  • Responsible for quality control and auditing of databases to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data

  • Work with multiple teams to deliver top quality solutions

  • Work with PowerShell to prepare and deploy database updates (internally developed processes)

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum BS/BTech/MTech/MS in computer science, engineering, or relevant field

  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience building enterprise software

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Detailed knowledge of software systems development and architecture best practices and patterns.

  • Broad exposure to system integrations, integration patterns and standard methodologies

  • Excellent knowledge of distributed systems principles, design, and architecture.

  • Thorough understanding of T-SQL

  • Experience with some form of HA/DR (replication, mirroring, AG, log shipping, etc.)

  • Experience with query tuning / performance tuning

  • Azure SQL or MS SQL Server experience

  • Experience with SQL backups and other maintenance tasks

  • Comfortable working with PowerShell tool suite

  • SQL Security knowledge

  • A sense of ownership and a desire to make an impact

  • Good interpersonal skills while working with other teams

  • A willingness to create and update department relevant documentation

  • Must have in depth experience with multiple products from at least one cloud provider

  • Must have experience working with global SW teams
