Job Description
We are seeking a highly driven cross-functional leader with proven new product development (NPD) and technical leadership to drive cross-functional execution and delivery of the Infusion Preparation and Delivery (IPD) development portfolio for the Medication Delivery Solutions (MDS) business. In this role, you are responsible for ensuring cooperation between cross-functional teams and external business units to ensure system integration of disposables solution into final delivery solution, as appropriate.
Accountable for the development and sustainability success of multiple projects, processes, and improvement opportunities; you will lead IPD Program Management Office and driving tasks where required. You will lead a cross functional teams and team leaders for the design of the product, planning of the development effort, progression through BD’s Global Product Development System (GPDS – phase gate process) and drive the team’s efforts in execution through commercial launch.
Regularly reports and interacts with executives and/or major customers to provide visibility on key progresses and outstanding risks in order to allow portfolio investment analysis and trade off decisions.
Mentor and servant leader for Program Managers to ensure an efficient projects’ execution, leading by example, providing clear and actionable directions to the team, allowing personal and professional growth aligned with business and personal development objectives.
Manage key timelines, dependencies, and Core Team resources across projects and business platforms
Ensure programs are approved and aligned within MDS business strategy, including definition of project’s business contract to ensure clarity on scope, budget and timeline.
Ensure program/project teams members are efficient, knowledgeable, and disciplined in delivering the product on time and on budget under the direction of a portfolio steering committee.
Drive cross functional project prioritization working in collaboration with key member of IPD leadership and platform partners, to promote a balanced portfolio to guarantee a mix between time to market, complexity, innovation and business continuity aligned with MDS strategy and technology development.
Coordinates, develop and track schedules, plans, tasks, and priorities. Promote cross functional Design, technical and business reviews and facilitates AARs (after action reports).
Maintain a sense of urgency, facilitate problem solving sessions and meetings to address obstacles, and hold team members accountable to program commitments.
Anticipate and mitigate risk points. Make tradeoffs between time, schedule, cost, and quality (when appropriate), while meeting safety and regulatory requirements
Exhibit strong technical expertise in product development processes and provide mentorship to Program/Project Managers and other team members
Exhibit project leadership skills including, but not limited to, critical path definition, optimization, monitoring, and management to ensure the most efficient time to market
Ability to track the financials of the project with such things as forecasting, accruals, and actuals
Regularly interacts with executives and/or major customers. Interactions frequently involve special skills, such as negotiating with customers or management or attempting to influence senior level leaders regarding matters of significance to the organization.
Interaction normally requires the ability to gain cooperation of others, conducting presentations of technical, strategic and business information concerning specific projects or schedules.
Requirements:
High volume disposable medical device product development experience from concept to successful commercialization, including sterilization processes.
Experience in system integration to drive the definition of key requirements and system level testing between the disposable and durable part of the design.
Experience with all phases of the product life cycle: planning, feasibility, verification, validation, process qualification, transfer, and post-launch.
Product launch experience working with Global teams.
Demonstrated track record of leading multiple successful programs that met business and product objectives.
Business acumen to drive portfolio prioritization aligned with overall IPD growth targets.
Experience with FDA’s regulation for Design Control (21CFR 820.30) and EU’s regulation for the same (ISO 13485 / euMDR).
Highly proficient or expert in the following areas:

Commercial Excellence - ability to effectively apply business, financial and commercial knowledge to successfully deliver the product development outcomes.
Portfolio management, schedule development, critical path development, Agile / scrum process, effective meeting management, conflict resolution, associate development and talent management, probabilistic modeling.
Education:
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering field required.
Post-graduate degree preferred
Certifications:
PMP certification (or similar) highly desirable
PMI-ACA (or similar Agile process) certification highly desirable
Lean, six-sigma and continuous improvement experience preferred
Preferred 15+ years’ leadership experience in product development, manufacturing, operations and/or engineering.

$199,600.00 - $359,300.00
