Job Description SummaryUnder the direction of the Manufacturing Facilitator, trains new employees, assigns employees to various jobs, notifies Process Control Technician when formulation or operation is ready for inspection, completes batch control records, ensures product is produced according to schedule and quality. Follows QSR, ISO and Safety requirements.

Job Description

  • Trains new employees in proper weighing and formulation in the formulation area.

  • Assigns employees to various jobs in the weighing and formulation area.

  • Notifies P.C. when process of formulation is ready for inspection.

  • Notifies the Manufacturing Facilitator or designee of any deviation found in the process.

  • Supervises weighing and formulation operations to ensure proper production procedures are followed.

  • Prepare, completes batch control records and processes the production orders in SAP.

  • Ensures that acceptable quality is maintained for production processes and that QSR and ISO regulations are met for his/her area of responsibility.

  • When required, acts as formulator inspector.

  • Supervises and ensures that cleaning procedures and housekeeping are performed.

  • Relieves weighing and formulation operators for their breaks when necessary.

  • Requires judgment to make minor decisions as to sequence of manufacturing.

  • Assists Manufacturing Facilitator in coordination and monitoring activities of operators.

  • Trains operators pertaining to production processes and proper use of equipment.

  • Monitors and expedites flow of material within production areas.

  • Notifies maintenance technicians and Manufacturing Facilitator of equipment malfunctions.

  • Applies judgment to resolve routine situations in the production areas.

  • Good communication skills to convey clear instructions to production personnel and communicate issues to Manufacturing Facilitator and related personnel.

  • Writes clear and neat information in batch records.

  • Performs manual calculations.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Education:

  • High school graduated.

  • Able to read, write and understand English.

Experience:

  • One to three years experience in pharmaceutical or medical device industry.

  • Exposure to supervisory duties.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Medium demand. Exposure to noise and odors. Some lifting and pulling.

  • Not paying attention may result in lost time injury.

  • Medium demand. Occasional lifting and pulling. Continuous walking and standing.
