BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) Engineer II, Visual Designer in Chandigarh, India
Job Description Summary
As a Visual Designer, you will be highly collaborative with all members of the Unified team, especially with the product owner, development leads, and fellow Unified team members. You can handle with ease at least two concurrent workstreams in tandem while being able to deliver on-time with the highest quality.
You perform tasks independently and can generate a multitude of unique concepts with some input from other designers. You can clearly articulate the design rationale and understand the need to compromise at times.
Job Description
Technology:
Mac proficient or PC proficient with demonstrated efficiency in the following applications:
Adobe Creative Cloud: Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe XD
Prototyping: Axure RP 9, Sketch
Microsoft Office 365 Suite: Excel, Word, Outlook, OneDrive.
Activities and deliverables:
Concept development , sketching, wireframes, workflows, taxonomy, low fidelity design concepts
Visual Design: High fidelity designs, interactive prototypes, responsive web design, iconography, data visualization, accessibility.
Documentation: Content writing, interaction rules, UX guidelines, and specification “redlines”.
Soft skills
Design leader – be able to develop unique design ideas/thinking without the need for input from others.
Collaborative – Create trust and gain respect from the product team leads. Use concise and strong communication, do not speak in circles. You are open-minded and stay curious about the possibilities.
Confident - be able to communicate the reason and thinking behind a design pattern and design decisions. Act decisively and independently, knowing when to ask for help, and when to drive your ideas.
Problem solver – be able to provide multiple, differentiated solutions to a single problem. Ability to flex when ideas are challenged.
Partner – proven success partnering with team members to deliver high-quality, on-time deliverables with evolving requirements within short-timeframes. Maintain a ‘we, not I’ mentality when things get tough.
Education
Bachelor's/Master's in User Interface Design, Graphic Design, Human Factors or Cognitive Science, equivalent on-the-job experience or successful completion of a certificate program.
Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a designer with a United States based company. Original Design portfolio required, with examples of real-time work/projects.
Basic requirements
Prior working experience in the medical industry or with design systems is a plus, but not required.
