Job Description Summary

Perform incoming inspection activities necessary to achieve company business objectives.

Determine open inspection lots, quality notifications and blocked stock.

Apply knowledge of quality procedures, inspection gauges and raw materials to meet incoming quality inspection demand on a timely basis.

Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures.

Regular, punctual attendance is an essential job function.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Monitor open inspection lots, raw material quality notifications and blocked stock.

  • Executes SmartScope inspection system.

  • Executes HIAC particulate system.

  • Perform self-audits of staging locations/hold areas.

  • Maintain/develop defect library for incoming components.

  • Establish proper sample size for inspecting and product disposition.

  • Locate, file and interpret inspection records, specifications and appropriate drawings.

  • Record adequate data on inspection forms, review and approve documentation as required.

  • Maintain expertise with inspection equipment.

  • Perform SAP/MES transactions and others as needed, ensure rejected material is marked and blocked appropriately.

  • Create/revise incoming inspection documentation (QDMS).

  • Assist with reprocessing/rework activities.

  • Other duties as required to support the needs of the business.

  • Successfully operate SmartScope inspection system.

  • Accurate SAP/MES transactions.

  • Accurate data entries and documentation.

  • Inspections performed accurately.

  • Complete inspections in a timely manner.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Minimum requirements:

  • Associates degree preferred, technical or manufacturing related

  • High School Diploma/GED Required

  • Ability to speak, read & write English

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities (KSA’s):

  • Computer skills

  • Use of measurement devices

  • Completing quality records

  • Communication Skills

  • Interpersonal Skills,

  • Detail Oriented

  • SAP/MES experience preferred

  • Attention to detail
