Job Position Title: Wash and Pack Setup

Function: Operations

Location: Columbus West

A Shift- 6:00am-6:00pm

Job Group/Grade: JG 2

Position Summary:

Responsible for production on their designated equipment as well as maintaining machine runtime and performing some mechanical repairs. They may be trained on any of the processes or equipment in the department to help fill production needs but will have an assigned focus area to build expertise. They may perform visual inspections as well as manufacturing operations. Will be responsible for achieving production rate and quality goals on assigned equipment. May require the use of 10x microscopes, calipers, and/or other miscellaneous gauges. May be required to perform SAP data entries. Perform changeovers and line clearances. Help maintain inventory of spare parts and prepare for upcoming work. Must be willing to troubleshoot machines and help identify methods to increase efficiency of the equipment. Informal leader of their respective area and responsible for ensuring quality of the product they produce. Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures. Regular, punctual attendance is an essential job function. Ability to read and write and converse in English. Willing and able to uphold BD Values.

Duties/ Responsibilities:

  • Achieving established production goals

  • Ensuring the quality of all product produced

  • Performing quality checks as designated

  • Ability to function as part of a team

  • Perform changeovers and line clearances

  • Ensure assigned equipment is maintained and in working order

  • Processing SAP and MES transactions for department

  • Assisting in the BDA process to identify root causes

  • Perform duties in accordance with GMP principles

  • Maintain compliance with all required document training

  • Operate safely each day including usage of proper PPE

  • Maintain equipment operation, monitoring and performance of grinding systems.

  • Know processes and QC Specifications.

  • Maintain equipment performance and all PM's.

  • Make process equipment adjustments, repairs and service as required so that continuous work patterns and operations are maintained.

  • Clean up as required.

  • Maintain accurate TPM & PM records.

  • Other duties as required to support the needs of the business

Education :

  • High School diploma/GED required

Experience:

  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred

  • Previous experience with MES and SAP preferred

  • Working knowledge and experience with machine troubleshooting preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Work effectively on own, or in a team atmosphere– Proficient

PCP Level: 4

  • May require respirators to be worn and mandatory passing of annual fit testing.

  • May require annual HAZWOPER training and may require being a Chemical Emergency Response Team member.
