About the role

As Packaging Engineer R&D, you will be responsible for R&D packaging projects as part of CTW (Change to Win) initiative. This function is part of the EPG (European Packaging Group) and will provide support for all MDS (Medication Delivery System) plants in EU and AP.

The responsibility includes from project idea/identification through feasibility testing and final qualification through change control process. You will provide R&D Engineering support to packaging CTW projects to achieve key CTW business goals and objectives within MDS organization. The job holder will achieve these goals and objectives through actively interact with CTW, Plant, Medical, Regulatory and Unit quality functions to ensure proper project execution according internal and external standards and procedures.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Lead, coordinate and support packaging projects to ensure compliance to specification, timeline, and budgeted schedule.

  • Actively drive for cost reduction projects/opportunities related to packaging material/design.

  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams comprising Manufacturing, Quality, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Procurement, and others.

  • Proactively develop, maintain & share technical knowledge in specialized area(s), remaining up-to-date on current trends and standard methodologies in the area of packaging materials and packaging designs.

  • Collaborate with Manufacturing/Procurement and other associates across MDS to propose; assess the feasibility and implementation of packaging design, material, or process changes. Including creative solutions to business or technical needs

  • Assess manufacturability of new packaging designs, development of packaging processes, selection and justification of the appropriate equipment and changes to existing packaging designs and processes. Develop and execute packaging strategies for optimizing equipment usage and operational efficiency.

  • Support cost and supply continuity needs through continuous improvement, technology assessment, and innovation

  • Support manufacturing sites in process validation, process capability issues, and customer issues.

  • Write detailed technical reports based on design verification analysis/testing for design changes and product design activities.

About you

Educated in Engineering, you’ll have a proven engineering track record in Packaging within a medium- to high-volume manufacturing environment. You´ll also bring:

  • Fluent English

  • Strong analytical skills and Project coordination skills.

  • Organized personality.

  • Manufacturing skills, preferred in Medical/Food/Cosmetic industry.

  • Willingness to travel.
