This position is responsible for managing associates within R&D Shared Services including MDR Remediation, Stability and Product Stewardship. This position requires an understanding of medical device markets, regulations, and design control. This position requires strong leadership and project management experience. This position will be required to interface with all project stakeholders including internal and external team members. The Reliability Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing and developing the R&D associates and allocating resources to support current and future projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and manage the R&D associates responsible for the MDR Remediation activities, development of product shelf life, and Product Stewardship.

  • Coordinate and manage all project activity in the remediation of technical documentation in compliance with new EU Medical Device Regulation (MDR)

  • Coordinate and manage all activities supporting the development of product shelf life including accelerated and real time aging and chamber management.

  • Coordinate and manage the development and maintenance of the Product Stewardship program including collection of supplier data, database management, knowledge of domestic and international materials regulations (REACH, Prop 65, etc).

  • Continuously improve the accuracy and efficiency of the Reliability Engineering programs.

  • Develop the strategy and project schedule for each program. Plan and manage program budgets.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated management skills.

  • Knowledge and understanding of FDA and International medical device development regulations; especially as they pertain to design control and product development.

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with ability to influence.

  • Experience managing several large programs concurrently.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • BS degree in a technical field such as biomedical engineering, polymer science, chemistry, biology, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or other engineering field is required.

  • 10+ years experience in R&D on New Product Development or Sustaining Engineering projects.
