Job Overview:

The Senior Global Marketing Manager is responsible for leading the upstream marketing efforts (including product management and portfolio marketing) of the Endourology platform at the Urology and Critical Care (UCC) business unit. The Platform’s current focus is serving the needs of urologic surgeons engaged in treating kidney stones via endoscopic or percutaneous approaches. UCC’s Endourology business is truly global with over 60% of its revenue coming from OUS regions, thus this role will require the incumbent to possess a global mindset. Relocation to the metro Atlanta, Georgia area is strongly preferred.

Summary Of Position With General Responsibilities:

This individual will manage and contribute meaningfully to the continued growth for this key platform while hiring, retaining and developing a team of individuals necessary to achieve strategic objectives. This individual will be called upon to demonstrate expertise and leadership in all aspects of product management, including new product development, of Endourology’s core products through the entire lifecycle.

This is a high-visibility leadership role for BD UCC with responsibility for driving the new product pipeline and managing the product lifecycle for Endourology products globally. As such, high-potential candidates should have strong leadership qualities and competency.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Demonstrate expertise in the new product development process, design control, and project management.

  • Possess expertise in gathering VOC and translating insights into user and stakeholder requirements and ultimately into product requirements

  • Drive all manner of market research – possess the ability to articulate research objectives and guide internal teams and third party vendors in designing projects to meet those objectives

  • Translate market insight into lucrative commercial/NPD strategies.

  • Serve as the disease state, product, and customer expert for internal stakeholders including Sales.

  • Build compelling business cases and present them to all levels of the organization in a persuasive manner which leads to garnering broad support

  • Build and present financial models for new product opportunities

  • Possess exceptional communication skills: written, oral, and presentation

  • Demonstrate expertise in how inventory/forecasting work and utilize this expertise to effectively manage a complex global supply chain that serves a truly global customer base

  • Develop plans to generate compelling evidence which will demonstrate offerings’ value and justify enhanced pricing and/or business model innovation

  • Establish and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders.

  • Develop roadmap for core products and drive lifecycle management

  • Demonstrate strong initiative and accountability to self and others.

  • Establish a brand for yourself as a reliable, highly effective and positive collaborator by leadership and cross-functional partners

  • Work with the Platform Leader and the business development team to identify new growth opportunities for the platform, with both organic and inorganic entry points

  • Hire, train, coach and retain a high-performing and cohesive team of upstream marketers

Basic Qualifications:

  • High-energy team player with a proven track record of directing new product development and leading project teams

  • Proven leadership experience in directing successful product launches: including writing and executing the marketing plan.

  • Experience taking a product from concept to global launch

  • Experience analyzing business opportunities and developing strategies

  • Medical device experience preferred

  • Experience entering/developing new markets preferred

  • Analytical ability

  • Strategic thinking

  • Excellent communication skills: oral, written, and presentation

  • Ability to build relationships with internal and external customers

  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to handle complexity and manage several tasks at one time

  • Ability to travel 25% of the time

Education And/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree minimum; MBA preferred

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in marketing, preferably in the field of medical devices

  • Proven experience in developing and launching new products

  • Experience analyzing business opportunities and developing strategies

  • Experience leading teams, both cross functional as well as other marketers
