WEEKEND SHIFT: SAT, SUN, MON - 6AM - 6:30PM

The Dock Auditor is responsible for the integrity of inspecting shipments in accordance to Becton Dickinson specifications. This is accomplished by ensuring that orders are picked correctly and in adherence to all policies and work instructions.

ESSENTIAL

(The following duties and responsibilities are intended to be representative of the work performed by the incumbent(s) in this position and are not all-inclusive. The omission of a specific duty or responsibility will not preclude it from the position.)

  • Check specified orders as directed to ensure all requirements are met, including; quantity, material number, special instructions, etc.

  • Freight picks will be inspected at Shipping dock.

  • Communicate with inventory control, order pickers, leads and supervisors regarding improvements, discrepancies and concerns.

  • Ensure all inspection records are prepared in a timely manner and forwarded to Lead and Supervisor.

  • Processing customer orders, to include: scanning bar codes, labeling boxes, picking product, and preparing packages for shipment.

  • Palletizing to include scanning, retrieving and placing completed orders on pallets.

  • Re-palletizing products for shipment.

  • May be responsible for dock manifest duties which include scanning completed pallets and running shrink wrapper.

  • May be responsible for operating the ground/manual manifest station.

  • May be required to transport pallets by material handling equipment.

  • Ensures all assigned duties are completed in a timely manner in accordance with departmental standards and by following departmental procedures.

  • Maintains an acceptable work area as outlined in the Quality System Regulations (QSR).

  • Responsible for following Good Documentation Practices (GDP) as outlined in SOP.

  • Must take safety first and be able to work diligently to maintain safe working conditions and to adhere to proper operating practices and procedure designed to prevent injuries and illnesses.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS OR QUALIFICATIONS (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required . Education/Experience : High School Diploma or general education degree (GED). General knowledge in distribution and QSR. Basic organizational skills.

Language: Good interpersonal skills. Ability to read and interpret distribution documents, and effectively communicate ideas/business. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written and oral form.

Math: Must have basic math and analytical skills working in a metrics - driven environment.

Reasoning: Ability to solve practical problems, Good prioritization skills.

WORK REQUIREMENTS

Ability to work well with other employees and work in a fast-paced distribution environment. Regular and reliable attendance at work.

The employee may occasionally be required to kneel, push or pull. The job can require lifting over 50 lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The position will almost always have exposure to work near moving mechanical parts, extreme weather conditions and vibration. Occasionally the position is in high, precarious places and fumes/airborne particles. It is hot in the summer months (no AC) and cold in the winter months (limited heating),The noise level is moderate.
