Responsibilities
- Proficient in Solidworks, must have demonstrated ability in all essential aspects plus:
o Surfacing
o Sheet Metal design
o Mold Tools
o Engineering Drawing Creation
- Must have experience designing components start to finish including all aspects:
o Tolerance analysis/GD&T
o DFX – Design for manufacturing/molding/assembly
o Material/Surface Finish selection
o Prototyping – hands on experience building and testing
- Test Method/Process Development experience required
o Test Method Validation statistical methods
o Fixture/manufacturing equipment design
o Process Validation Experience – IQ/OQ/PQ
o Edge of failure, process window determination, DOE
o Process Capability Analysis
o Manufacturing process authoring experience
- Must demonstrate understanding of design controls for Med Device industry
o Design Inputs and Outputs
o Verification and Validation
o Risk Management Process
- Must demonstrate understanding of design requirements generation process:
o Identifying unmet needs
o User/Stakeholder Requirements
o Product/System Requirements
o Subsystem Requirements/Engineering Specifications
Experience working within both Sustaining Engineering and New Product Development domains required.
Must have experience performing qualification activities
o Protocol/Report generation
Root cause analysis/characterization testing experience required
Ability to travel to manufacturing sites required
Demonstrated ability in design transfer to manufacturing plants
Experience conducting technical design reviews is a must have
Demonstrated experience managing and working with vendors
o RFQs for complex equipment/projects
o SOW creation
Demonstrated understanding of electromechanical systems including sound fundamentals of electronics and software in addition to mechanical expertise
Demonstrated understanding of standards
o IEC 60601
o ISO 13485
o Etc.
Ability to mentor and guide less experienced engineers – including remote colleagues in international locations
Must be able to be onsite in Covington per hybrid workplace policy – minimum 3 days a week
Qualifications:
- Degree level qualification; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
