Responsible for coordination of the entire sterilization process to ensure quality processing as defined by procedure. This individual is the central point of contact and interfaces with all sterilization job functions.

Responsibilities:
Coordinates the operation of sterilization process and ancillary equipment.
Manages material flow, establishes work priorities and directs / monitors the work activities of other team members.
Documents all steps in the sterilization process in accordance with established procedures.
Operates material handling equipment.
Must be able to perform all functions as defined in the Warehouse Spore Placer Job Description.
Additionally, in absence of QA technician is trained to perform post sterile inspection.
Initiates maintenance work orders, when applicable.
Maintains plant facilities and equipment through “user level” preventative maintenance as defined by procedure(s).
Participates in safety team, audit activities and operational process improvements.
Essential resource for training of other sterilization personnel (i.e. Sterilization Operators), and ensure all policies and procedures are understood and followed.
Perform chemical receipt into Sterilization.
Monitor chemical inventory of nitrogen and ethylene oxide.
Connection / disconnection of hazardous chemicals to process equipment (i.e. ethylene oxide).
Assists with various monthly reports for purpose of tracking departmental performance.
Responsible for completing JD Edwards Warehouse Management System moves.
Will effectively complete other functions and responsibilities that may be assigned.
Knowledge of all positions within the area of responsibility.
Educational Qualifications & Previous Experience
Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent, with preferably some technical or college education.
Two to 4 years of experience in the operation of material handling equipment and inventory management is desirable.
Professional Skills & Key Competencies
Able to operate material handling equipment.
Able to apply policies and procedures to work situations and use judgment in selecting appropriate actions. Significant deviations from established policies and procedures will be referred to the supervisor.
Able to prioritize tasks and workflow. Planning will take into account assets (time, equipment, and product) available.
Intermediate knowledge of personal computers and MS Office programs.
Proficient in the use of a personal computer with intermediate level of keyboarding skills.
Knowledge of inventory control tools such as, inventory transaction journal, stock status, and computerized-inventory system.
Team leadership experience necessary.
Demonstrated strong leadership and motivational skills required.
Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding personnel issues.
Strong interpersonal skills required in the areas of verbal and written communications, employee focus, service to internal customers, telephone courtesy, professionalism
Strong questioning & problem-solving skills.
Must have strong attention to detail and be results oriented.
Desired / Additional Skills & Knowledge
Must have good oral and written communication skills, to read and comprehend simple instructions in Basic English and write short correspondence / memos.
Must be able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to staff, internal customers and other employees within the organization.
Must be able to perform basic mathematical computations and apply to various operational tasks.
Must be a self-starter. Position requires good logic and reasoning ability. Ability to define problems and find logical solutions. Must evaluate and resolve daily issues by exercising sound judgement.

The employee is occasionally required to stand and reach with hands and arms and lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Employee is required to meet with other personnel in other areas of building. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
