About the role
As a Junior Events Coordinator (Hybrid), you would be part of the BD Interventional segments Marketing Services department, reporting to the European Events Manager. In this role you will support trainings and external promotional events and projects across Europe.
The role involves European travel, with some evening and weekend work required.
Main responsibilities will include:
Supporting the event team in the planning and delivering of medium to large scale events, providing strong project management skills. Working as part of a team, with multiple stakeholders throughout the process. You will be involved in the management of trade show stands, workshops and summits in the UK and Europe which includes hotels and venues, and multiple relevant ad hoc suppliers. You will also provide support in organising online events, including webinars from start to finish.
Further responsibilities include:
Coordinate shipping requests for assigned events – some heavy lifting is required.
Liaison with stakeholders, suppliers and congresses, pre-event planning and preparation of meeting venues.
Working with team members on internal financial procedures and the monitoring of event budgets.
Supporting the coordination and negotiation of contracts, rates, T&Cs.
Preparation of internal announcements of forthcoming events and creating internal awareness of events (pre and post)
Helping in compiling reports, or documents required on any event or project.
About you
The ideal candidate should show a keen interest in event management, must be highly organised, show dedication and be a great teammate. To be successful in this position you will need high level attention to detail, with an organised and methodical approach. You need to be a competent administrator, fast and efficient, with the ability to prioritise tasks to ensure target times are met.
Other key skills and experience are:
Event management experience preferred
Ability to build strong, long-lasting business relationships
Can manage pressure and willing to show dedication
Willingness to learn
Proactive forward thinker that can multitask
The highest regard towards customer service at all levels
Bachelor’s degree preferable
