About the role
The role of Product Manager is to support the Peripheral Intervention (PI) Oncology sales teams exceed their growth objectives. This role will actively participate in and lead marketing and market shaping projects to expand the available market and remove financial barriers, thereby ensuring the teams can capitalise on maximising opportunities. The Oncology Product Manager will make customers and their needs a primary focus; developing and sustaining productive customer relationships, but balancing customers’ needs with business profitability. A key part of this role will be market analysis and a good, data-based approach to providing marketing/market developing project outcomes The ability to clearly convey information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals or groups is paramount. Communication style must be in a manner that engages the audience and helps them understand and retain the message.
This person will identify and understand issues whilst spotting opportunities. They will be able to compare data from different sources to draw conclusions and use effective approaches to choose an appropriate course of action or solutions in a timely manner. The Oncology Product Manager will establish courses of action for self and others to ensure that work is completed and project managed efficiently and within budget.
The role will report into the Market Access Director UK/I with a dotted line to the Market Access Manager (MAM) PI.
Main responsibilities will include:
Key Contact person for strategic marketing questions and tactical support information
Support and champion the use of the marketing tools available
Market development around the Oncology strategic pillars
Assist Sales Director with informing strategic and tactical activities to overcome barriers and challenges to growth. Assist Sales Managers in information collection for tender documentation
Attend local sales meetings and provide product, market development and strategy presentations
Identify knowledge gaps in local tactical activity and provide training accordingly
Co-travel with representatives to understand markets and customer opinion
Develop suitable campaigns and conduct marketing/market development campaigns
Support the development of go-to-market plans for product launches in line with the BD Way of Marketing
Work with MAM PI to lead projects to engage with senior clinical stakeholders to develop key market segments and drive/support relationships with local champions of all fields
Guide and upskill the sales team in the production of customer specific business cases and value-based propositions for the portfolio, leveraging HEOR models, value based procurement tools and other evidence and data
Work with the MAM PI, Health Economist and CHS team on value-based marketing/selling and tools.
Lead on relationship strategy to develop Key Opinion Leaders and scientific communities/associations on strategic priority segments
Be accountable for the successful utilisation of MA projects and in steering the adoption at a policy and local level
Serve as in-country contact for the Oncology teams to manage:-
Marketing/market development
Digital campaigns and requests from EMEA Oncology Marketing
Competitive intelligence
Market trends and forecast market demand
Identify potential candidates for payer and clinical KOL development
Forecasting and NPOA's
Respond to sensitivity reports from Olen (European Distribution Centre)
Assist/support sales Management with the budgeting/Annual Strategic Review process
Provide validated, country specific data for NPOAs in collaboration with local Sales Managers
Liaison with European marketing
About you
Minimum 2 years product management experience in the medical technology sector desirable or Demonstrable marketing or product management experience in a business to business environment or solid sales experience within Medical Devices industry ideally including capital equipment combined with technical/product/educational skills
Bachelor’s degree in business (or equivalent)/ MBA with an emphasis on marketing or related field or a combination of experience and education is desirable.
CIM Certificate or Diploma in Marketing
Ability to build success measurement tools, analyse results and optimally communicate results to Management on individual projects
Sound project management skill and used to managing multi-stakeholders
Demonstrable experience in key customer and KOL development
