Due to growth within the supply chain function, we now have an exciting opportunity for a Logistics Specialist on a permanent basis to join our site in Drogheda in a Day role (Monday to Friday). You will be primarily responsible for coordinating the shipping of finished product from internal & external manufacturing sites to our distribution centers. You will also facilitate other ad-hoc import & export shipments as required. Another key component will be management of internal cross functional relationships.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordination & execution of finished product shipments across our network.

  • Process invoices & monitor through LOTS system for shipping allocations, generate pick lists, consolidate different shipments for same location to minimize transport costs. Generate shipping papers; transmit to carriers/customers/buyers/etc.

  • Check shipments and if applicable containers before loading. Ensure compliance with stringent requirements for security, damage and product counts.

  • Organize transport and carriers. Carriers must be contacted, and a shipping schedule agreed. Work closely with local transport partner.

  • Arrange parcel and pallet shipments with local courier service when necessary and ensure invoices and correct information is available at time of collection.

  • Liaise with customers/planner buyers/DC's re shipping from BD Drogheda. Deal with all shipping related queries.

  • Monitor/maintain FG inventory

  • Maintain shipping documentation archive. Ensure compliance with record keeping regulations.

  • Creation of GMP & non-GMP documentation including SOPs and shipping documentation.

  • Process for payment in the SAP system all freight invoices ensuring that rates are valid and department charge codes are correct.

  • Monitor use of off-site storage(3PL) to ensure that it is being used efficiently.

  • Point of contact for international courier shipments from all departments in the plant.

  • Work closely with the quality team on product release

  • Act as subject matter expert for shipment, system updates and any other relevant projects.

The successful candidate will have ideally 2/3 years’ experience in warehousing/distribution/shipping. You will have excellent planning and organizational skills. Skilled in analysis and fact finding.

Experience with SAP, LOT’s & MES are desirable. MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point & Teams) required.
