Our site in Drogheda is commencing a major upgrade and refurbishment of all facilities. In addition to this investment there are a number of new lines being brought into production. This BD facility is the only one globally which manufactures one of our new PosiFlush™ products.
With this steady growth and expansion taking place we are now recruiting a Supplier Quality Engineer on a permanent basis to join our site in Drogheda in a Day role (Monday to Friday).
The Supplier Quality Engineer will manage all quality related aspects of materials used to manufacture prefilled saline syringes and insulin delivery devices, and the suppliers of those materials and varying duties as assigned by Quality leadership. In the role you will actively lead all supplier management activities covering the execution of supplier audits, incoming inspections, non-conformance investigations, supplier monitoring, metrics and communications. Related duties will include process validation studies, process improvement projects and project management.
Main responsibilities will include:
Manage all aspects of the Supplier quality system, including procedures, risk assessments, Supplier Corrective Actions, Approved Supplier List (ASL) and GMP / Behavioural Based Quality.
Provide oversight and management of the supplier approval program and the external audit schedule and interface with Global Supplier Management.
Liaise with corporate supplier quality on projects, as required.
Co-ordinate / generate quality metrics / reports for monthly meetings.
Assist and co-ordinate the preparation of supplier data for Management review Meetings.
Maintain the supplier audit schedule and execute supplier audits as required.
Contribution to Supplier Management process, as appropriate.
Provide support for the ISO9001/2000 and ISO13485 and 21CFR Part 820 Quality Systems.
Ensure adherence to all BD and external regulatory requirements.
Become an active member of the site internal audit team.
Prepare and maintain supplier related documentation in compliance with the appropriate regulatory requirements.
Training of associates on Supplier Quality procedures and initiatives.
Support projects to identify and qualify new / alternative suppliers.
Where relevant, take ownership of Corrective and Preventive Actions, and track progress through Trackwise or similar e-CAPA systems.
Support production personnel in relevant continuous improvement activities (Six Sigma etc.).
Act as customer liaison contact for key customers as appropriate.
Review, analyse and report on relevant customer complaints.
Support third part Audits and Inspections from a Supplier Management perspective.
Promotion of Quality Awareness, Culture, cGMP and BD Values within the Plant.
The ideal candidate will have:
Degree in Engineering, Science or Quality related discipline.
3+ years relevant work experience in a regulated medical device or pharmaceutical environment.
Proven working experience with FDA QSR and ISO 13485.
Strong Understanding of GMP.
Proven track record in problem solving, root cause analysis and supporting quality notifications related to materials and CAPA resolution etc.
Proven ability of working in a cross-functional team environment.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and high level of computer literacy.
Experience working within an established Quality System.
Experience in supplier management a distinct advantage.
Ideally qualified 'lead auditor' experience.
