Our facility in Dun Laoghaire has recently completed a large expansion plan and now produces the majority of pen needles for the diabetes market globally. We are now ramping up to commence producing the newest BD product to support the diabetes market here onsite. With all these exciting developments taking place we are recruiting an Automation Project Engineer . This is a stand-alone position reporting into and updating the manager on a daily basis. Within this positon you will be responsible for all the documentation and validation of all your projects. You will implement PLC, SCADA, Vision and Factory Automation upgrades. You will support the plant wide automation change control and manage software revision control systems. You will carry out other relevant tasks as required by the as required by the Senior Automation Engineer.

The key responsibilities of this role are as follows:

  • Deliver complex automation projects plant-wide

  • Prepare capital requests and end-to-end project management of all automation projects and upgrades

  • Carry out obsolescence assessments for automation assets across the plant and develop remediation plans for same

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5yrs experience with Equipment Automation, Software or related experience. You will have a B.Eng. in Electrical, Software, Manufacturing or related engineering discipline or have demonstrable experience. You will have previously worked in a highly automated manufacturing environment. You will have a proven track record in executing factory automation projects from concept to implementation. You will have expert knowledge of Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation products including capability to write code from specification and experience of development, deployment & maintenance of SCADA / HMI systems (Allen Bradley, Schneider). You will have worked with High Speed Vision systems (Cognex), Control Networks & Communication Systems (ControlNet, DeviceNet, Ethernet). You will have excellent project management skills, and be able to demonstrate an ability to work on your own initiative or seamlessly across various departments. Strong data analysis skills and familiarity with SQL Server is advantageous.
