The plant, based in Dun Laoghaire, runs 24/7 and is the Worldwide Centre of Excellence for Pen Needle Manufacturing within the BD organization, producing 4.6 billion medical devices annually. Here we employ approximately 450 people across Operations, Engineering, Quality and R&D.

About the role

With all these exciting developments taking place we are recruiting for a Shift Engineering Technician on a permanent basis on our fabulous site in Dun Laoghaire.

As a Shift Engineering Technician , you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, overhaul, adjustment and modification of plant and production equipmen t, as well as the fabrication of new cutting-edge equipment.

This is an amazing opportunity to work in a fully automated , state of the art facility , giving you room to grow your skills and experiences in a sophisticated, matrix, international organisation.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain production lines at optimal performance and drive continuous improvement to increase output, reduce downtime and waste;

  • High attention to detail, maintaining all recording and reporting systems on engineering related matters;

  • Assist with the training of other Engineering Technicians, new recruits and apprentices as required.

About you

As the newest member of our Technician team, you will have strong experience in mechanical/electrical engineering and controls systems associated with high volume manufacturing equipment and hold Third Level Qualification or National Craft Certificate in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering with experience working hands on in a similar environment.
