Job Description Summary

The role of the Field Service Engineer is to assist in the installation and maintenance of large, complex robotic drug storage systems and assisting operating staff with day to day queries and fault diagnosis either remotely or on site.

We have recently been on an acquisition program and purchased a number of key players in the medical device market. We currently have 4 sites in Ireland which are in the middle of expansion and improvement works. With all these exciting new developments taking place we now have a vacancy for the Field Service Engineer based on the Western Seaboard to join our field service team. Your role will be to look after all our pharmacy clients who are using the BD Rowa™ Robotics Stock control system.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in mech-elec maintenance and experience within robotics. You will be assisting in the installation and maintenance of large, complex robotic drug storage systems and assisting operating staff with day to day queries and fault diagnosis either remotely or on site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Excellent customer facing and communication skills

  • Experience in electro-mechanical systems fault diagnosis, repair, servicing and installation

  • Experience with motor controllers, stepper and servo motor systems

  • Computer literate with a knowledge of networking and serial connectivity and PC based control systems essential

  • Experience of PC / PLC based control systems and conveyors desirable but not essential

You will hold a minimum of a National Craft Certificate as a fitter/turner or an electrician. You will have previously worked in a similar role and will excellent customer facing and customer skills. You will be able to arrange your own diary and priorities your appointments. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to set and manager customer expectations. You will manage your own stock and spares and have experience of updating online record systems. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated and enthusiastic and capable of working alone or as part of a team. You need to be decisive and able to work without supervision.

This role will involve overnight stays.
