BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) Warehouse Operator in Dun Laoghaire, Ireland
Job Description Summary
BD, also known as Becton Dickinson, provides pen needles for the care of Diabetes patients globally. The plant, based in Dun Laoghaire, runs 24/7 and is the Worldwide Centre of Excellence for Pen Needle Manufacturing within the BD organisation, producing 4.6 billion medical devices annually. Here we employ approximately 450 people across operations, engineering, quality and R&D.
We are now looking for a Warehouse Operator (Permanent Role) whose role is supply/receiving, material handling, warehousing, shipping, engineering stores and other supply chain related services to ensure smooth operation of the plant, while meeting quality, safety and housekeeping requirements in accordance with GMP.
Your responsibilities are to include:
· Daily loading/off-loading of raw materials/finished product;
· Control shipping of finished goods, including setting up pro-formas/log tags for each container;
· Operate Fork Trucks and EPT in strict compliance with safety codes;
· Work in resin store room to ensure resin bins are full and all lines are being fed;
· Continuous monitoring of stock levels - check and replenish all production Kan-Ban on a daily basis;
· Issue materials to SAP cost centre from previous shift and through current shifts. Carry out daily/weekly/monthly cycle counting on both SAP and Mesi as per Planner;
· Maintain a high standard of housing keeping.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in controlling materials in a high-speed manufacturing environment. You will be technically qualified with a fork truck license to cover reach truck/counter balance/EPT. Experience working with SAP is desirable.
You will be hands on and have a sense of urgency. You will have the ability to function as part of a team and work on own initiative. The ideal candidate will have some GMP/GDP experience and a high level of safety awareness. This is a day role, but possible requirement to work shift (2 or 4 shift) on a temporary basis as cover to warehouse absence would be required.
You will keep stores and warehouse areas clean. Maintain a high standard of EHS and follow all safety procedures. You will need to work closely with our subcontracted storage facility to ensure pick lists (both from and to) are accurate.
