Job Description Summary

This is an entry level position that will support all electrical controls activities within the Central Fill group. Develop / implement / maintain industrial controls system designs. Author / review hardware & controls specifications documents. Maintain and follow group standards. Work with R&D for product roadmaps and new system designs. Work with vendors to identify new solutions. Work with manufacturing to ensure new designs / design changes are properly documented and BOMs updated. Drive & own internal projects as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain PLC code.

  • Maintain control system schematics.

  • Update “as built” documentation.

  • Merge design changes from “as built” into manufacturing documentation.

  • Maintain machine & conveyor utilities requirements.

  • Maintain implementation and testing processes.

  • Interface with manufacturing to ensure BOMs are updated as needed.

  • Vetting of potential replacement vendors, components & processes.

  • Work with vendors to identify new / replacement components.

  • Collect and report ideas for new product development / upgrade from team.

  • Create & maintain processes for managing EOL / EC.

  • Research and identify suitable replacements for EOL components.

  • Testing of potential replacement components.

  • Modify build drawings to reflect new components as necessary.

  • Create and maintain organizational standards regarding drawings & source code.

  • Create and maintain proper revision control processes for drawings and source code.

  • Create and maintain hardware testing plans.

Skills and Experience

  • Requires training in fields such as industrial engineering or controls engineering generally obtained through completion of a bachelor’s degree program or equivalent combination of experience and education.

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of business principles, processes, and technology.

  • Strong organization and planning skills with attention to detail.

  • Strong motivational and team building skills.

  • Good analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills.

  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Strong relationship building skills.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

  • Proficient with MS Office products.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with PLC / controls architecture.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with pneumatics

  • Demonstrated proficiency with CAD applications (AutoCAD preferred).

  • RFID / Bar code experience a plus

  • Panel building experience a plus

  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.

  • Work will primarily be in an office setting with limited opportunities to be exposed to adverse environmental conditions.

  • Must have visual acuity for viewing a computer screen, the ability to talk, hear and sit for extended periods of time.

  • Must be able to carry, lift and push/pull up to 5 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.

  • Additional physical duties may be required as necessary.

  • While COVID-19 precautions are in effect, this role requires use of face masks/face coverings while working in our facilities.
