To strengthen the BD Biosciences Sales & Marketing team in the Benelux, we are currently looking for a:
Business Development Manager Biotechnology - Benelux
As Business Development Manager Biotechnology you will be responsible for growing the BD Biosciences business segment in the Biotechnology market within the Benelux. As Business Development Manager you will play a major role in expanding BD Biosciences presence in this highly innovative and fast growing market and drive the sales of BD Biosciences products. You will deploy your talents to identify, build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders. This person prospects leads and drives opportunities for flow cytometry instrumentation and associated reagents. You will achieve the strategic growth and sales objectives both with existing and new customers.
This role will report to the Country Business Leader Benelux.
Map and explore opportunities for BD Biosciences products in Biotech market
Expand current network, customer base and build relations with key stakeholders.
Be responsible for sales of BD Biosciences instruments and reagents within the territory.
Participate in sales meetings, providing up to date and accurate information about the sales territory and accurate sales forecast information.
Generate regular reports for the BD Biosciences marketing team (both local and European) communicating the trends, opportunities and threats for the organization from the market place.
Maintain accurate customer contact details, marketing attributes and opportunity management in the CRM database.
Have a scientific degree in either Cell Biology, Hematology, Immunology or a related subject and/or have 2-3 years practical laboratory experience, preferably in flow cytometry.
Knowledge of immune phenotyping, cell therapy, cell biology, stem cell technology and/or flow cytometry.
Must be motivated to achieve individual and team sales targets.
A flexible team player with a great sense of humor.
High level of negotiation skills combined with strong customer focus.
For the right candidate, previous sales experience is not a necessity. However, if previous sales experience is not present, a strong technical background would be required. The right attitude, organizational skills, enthusiasm and results- orientation is most important.
Ability to work in a very structured approach and be capable of independently prioritizing and completing work
Excellent communication, presentation and organizational skills.
Ability to deal with ambiguity and act when limited information is available.
Demonstrate a proactive nature.
Project a very professional image.
Fluent in spoken and written Dutch and English, good command of French is a plus.
PC Literate, skilled user of the Microsoft suite including PowerPoint and Excel.
Customer centric - you know how to probe for and understand the customer’s environment and needs, and can provide a complete solution.
Building relationships - You are able to establish relationships with key customers and stakeholders who can help to influence product usage and/or buying decisions.
Organizational awareness - You are able to learn and to understand the key relationships within different organizations, allowing you to identify the real decision makers and the individuals that can influence them.
