Job Description Summary
We are looking for a Key Account Manager Benelux - BD Integrated Diagnostic Solutions Industrial Microbiology.
The KAM covers the industrial key accounts, including Pharmaceutical & Personal Care & Cosmetics accounts in the Benelux region.
In this role, you are a team member of the European Industrial microbiological team and will report to the sales manager France and Benelux.
The role can be based in the Netherlands or in Belgium (home based).

Tenacious, enthusiastic, passionate about sales , the KAM covers the industrial key accounts, including Pharmaceutical & Personal Care & Cosmetics accounts in the Benelux region (Netherlands, Dutch and French speaking part of Belgium).
The KAM is a team member of the European Industrial microbiological team and will report to the sales manager France and Benelux.
The KAM is responsible for sales and segment development of the Industrial Microbiology product portfolio in the Benelux region. The scope of the role includes the following Industries:
Pharmaceutical Production Includes: Pharmaceutical/Medical Device/Aseptic Compounding Private Sector
Personal Care & Cosmetics Production Industry
Distributors
Microbiological Culture Media Manufacturers
This is a Belgium or Netherlands field-based role that will require travel across covered territory, and internationally into Europe for European organization meetings and training. Access to the global organization is done during project discussion.
Responsibilities:
To achieve the annually agreed sales objectives and growth within the region
Drive category share with a focus on pharmaceutical, Personal Care Products companies
Take ownership and accountability for all activity within assigned territory, and planning and organizing time and resource to meet all goals and objectives.
Lead to the design, implementation and evaluation of a strategic plan for the territory in conjunction with reporting line.
Working with manager to execute on strategies and tactics in order to deliver growth and market share gains, growing the profile and reputation of the business through professional and mutually successful partnerships with the customer.
Positioning BD as ‘front of mind’ solution in key areas of the Industrial Microbiology portfolio in strategic accounts and to KOLs
Promote, sell & secure orders from existing and prospective customers through a customer centric approach within the territory
Demonstrate products and services to existing/potential customers and assist them in selecting those best suited to their needs
Provide adequate and prompt after sales service
Working Collaboratively with Customer Service in the management of Accounts to ensure the required service is delivered to the customer
Work closely with internal functions, including Tech support, Regulatory/Quality, Production, Supply Chain and Customer Care department to ensure high quality service is attained in territory
Close cooperation and experience sharing with the European Industrial Microbiology Team. Work collaboratively with BDX initiatives (Other BD business units)
Highly embedded in commercial excellence by the use of CRM (SFDC) & BD Way of Selling: Managing the Day to day activities pricing management; quotations, contracts, quality agreements and pricing renewals are delivered on time
Requirements/Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a sales experience, ideally in the Benelux Pharmaceutical, Biotech or Personal Care production space. You will have a hunger and drive to develop new
business with a strong ability to network and maintain and value long term relationships.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following competencies:
Min. BSc degree preferably in microbiology
Ability to recognize and seize business opportunities and proactively look for opportunities through initiative and creativity
Team working and ability to influence at all levels
High personal accountability
Commercially aware with a strong financial acumen and strong negotiation skills
Excellent verbal & written Communication, presentation & Networking Skills
Strong understanding of Pharmaceutical regulations such as the EU Pharmacopeia/GMP
Ability to engage with different functions in the customer organization (e.g. General Management, Procurement, Microbiology, Manufacturing, QA/QC)
Ability to work both independently and within a Benelux and European team environment
Proficiency in using Salesforce.com, Power BI, Microsoft Office applications
Traveling within Belgium and The Netherlands up to 50% of time
Traveling within Europe up to 5% of time
Full proficiency in Dutch & English
