Market Access Manager MDS Benelux

Health care moves quickly, so it's important that we work closely with health care bodies (sick funds, federal associations of health insurance, federal and local statutory physician associations, pharmacists associations, etc.) to help them understand the issues that affect the medical device markets and our customers.

Main Purpose of the Job

Market Access Manager develop strategies to support and assist businesses in close collaboration with: MarClin team, HEOR team, Public Policy team and business unit marketing and business intelligence to prepare and execute projects with customers to

  • Stakeholder mapping and prioritization: understanding, describing and prioritization most relevant market access stakeholders for local BD MDS organization / business

  • Reimbursement dossier and value story creation in Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg

  • Determine market entry and competitive price levels with reimbursement authorities.

  • Communicate relevant healthcare system changes to commercial teams.

  • Establish contact and build relationships with key senior stakeholders within payment organizations (sick funds).Market Access Manager is also responsible to

  • external policy shaping to shape the payment environment and internal R&D collaboration to fulfill reimbursement and payment requirements;

  • keep track of all medical reimbursement files and serving as the point persons with reimbursement & payment bodies as well as with insurance companies;

  • ensure that reimbursement procedures adhere to regulations, hospital and payers' operating procedures;

  • Ensure in-country launch sequencing, pricing strategies, evidence requirements and submission documents are aligned to broader commercial goals

  • participating in strategic development and implementation argumentation to ensure market-access

  • developing appropriate communication platforms together with marketing and other internal stakeholdersHe/she works closely with BD customers, hospitals, pharmacists, physicians and where useful patient organizations. Ensuring full product-life-cycle approach to reimbursement pricing is managed, including access pricing, reimbursement price level maintenanceHe/she also analyze workloads, determine priorities, assign duties, and oversee work progress in reimbursement-related matters, such as in preparing internal reports related to specific BD product offerings.He/she also manage all reimbursement/payment transactions and train executive staff regarding new policies.Compliance with regulations is a very important aspect of the job, and confidentiality is a must. Market Access & Payment Manager skill sets:

  • Must have a commercial, not research, approach to Market Access.

  • Analytical skills are an integral component for being successful in this position.

  • He/she must be comfortable analyzing reimbursement schemes, interpreting data and develop application strategies for executives.

  • Maintain relationship with sick funds and/or health services management work to resolve reimbursement issues and raising efficiency opportunities .

  • Good communications skills are necessary, especially for building relationships with medical staff, reimbursement bodies and health insurance providers.

  • Must possess excellent organizational and planning skills.

  • Superior project management skills.

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of current trends in reimbursement policy and EU healthcare.

  • Self-motivated with a positive and professional approach to management.

  • Develop market access and payment projects across the full range of health care areas/entities that impact BD.

  • Strong academic record with minimum of bachelor degree or equivalent.

  • 4+ years experiences in health care sector (pharma / medical device industry, health policy or related function).

  • Dutch, French and English language and written skills.

  • Existing network of local (Benelux) market access stakeholders

  • Broad knowledge of reimbursement, Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg

  • Experiences in project management

Additional requirements/qualifications:

  • Enthusiastic team player with energy, drive and determination, as well as a genuine interest in health care policy.

  • First-rate personal, reimbursement and payments, analytical and organizational skills.

  • Good communicator - in person and in writing.

  • Familiar with medical devices technologies and the reimbursement policy environments that surround them, or an ability to quickly get up to speed on complex technical and regulatory issues.

  • Self-starter with a sense of humor a nd the ability to thrive in a fast moving and sometimes stressful environment.

  • Dutch, French and English professional level proficiency.

  • Flexibility to travel about 30% of the time within Benelux. Travel outside Benelux is partially required.
