Job Description Summary

Job Location: Erembodegem, Belgium or Eysins, Switzerland

The Sr HR Business Partner is supporting the design and execution of project Athena II in EMEA and is either based in Switzerland or in Belgium. Athena II is a strategic initiative to replace EMEA’s Quote-to-cash systems and solutions.

As a critical role for this project, the Sr HRBP will work closely with Business & Functional Leaders to develop and deliver an HR agenda aligned to the project strategy. This position reports strong line to the Integration & Transformation Project Director and dotted line to the Athena II Program Leader.

The incumbent provides leadership necessary to build a team, achieve high engagement and ultimate success in achieving the project's purpose.

This role exists to manage the different phases of the Athena II project. In the initial phase this position is responsible for mustering more than 60 associates from across the region.

The project is anticipated to last 42 months and has begun in September 2018. During the run-phase of this project the Sr HRBP role will focus on achieving: capability building, associate engagement, maximize performance, effective talent management and legal compliance. In the last phase of the assignment the Sr HRBP will oversee the wind-down of Athena II associates and coordinate the reintegration efforts.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Partners with business leaders regarding HR agenda development. Creates the HR/workforce component of the business plan. Identifies the internal and external resources that are needed to accomplish the HR component, and monitors progress towards its key objectives.

  • Based on project strategy, works to identify, design and implement appropriate organizational structures and key capabilities required to achieve business objectives.

  • Assesses the business competencies that are required to meet strategic objectives, and the capability of the organization to maximize business opportunities. Identifies opportunities to fill competency gaps through talent acquisition and talent development.

  • Displays in-depth knowledge of change management tools and techniques, as well as facilitation expertise, when dealing with change processes and situations. Engages leaders to achieve commitment to drive and sustain change effort. Tracks the progress of the change effort in order to keep people engaged and energized.

  • Provides ideas and challenge to management teams, thus acts as a catalyst for change.

  • Leads the project leadership team discussion of HR issues. Gathers and presents the relevant information to enable the leaders to understand and take action regarding HR related business needs & opportunities. Facilitates business decisions. Coordinates local implementation if need be with HR partners that sit in a different location (mainly Europe) and ensure that any legal / Works Council obligations are fulfilled.

  • Identify, highlight and escalate when needed any interdependencies, conflicting priorities and collusion risks with other strategic projects.

  • Actively coaches leaders to build effective team dynamics by using the right tools and techniques.

  • Analyzes metrics, reports and data. Shares relevant information with the leaders. Determines how this information should drive change and continuous improvement.

  • Evaluates internal and external HR related tools/options for solving business problems. Provides recommendations to the leaders, and is responsible for developing important internal and external relationships.

  • Works with the appropriate BD entities (i.e Center Of Excellence, Associate Service Center, Local & Regional HR team) as appropriate for the project.

Key Requirements

  • The successful incumbent should have at least 8 to 10 years of broad and progressive generalist human resources experience, some of which was gained with organization recognized for best practices in human resources. It must be a strategic, business oriented, generalist with a demonstrated track record of success and accomplishment. Foundation as an HR generalist yet also has strong capabilities in organizational design & change management is required. Regional working knowledge is an important. Experience in project management is preferred.

  • A bachelor’s degree is required. An MBA or Master Degree in a related field is highly preferred.

  • 20% of travel should be expected – a bit more at the beginning.
