About the role

As The Director, Procurement you will be accountable for groundbreaking global category strategies in the areas of Electromechanical, Finished Goods, Optics, Instrumentation and Software, finished products sourced from third-party OEMs, as well as appropriate supply bases with clear spend governance.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and manage global category teams for Electromechanical, Finished Goods, Optics, Instrumentation and Software, and third-party OEMs.

  • Develop and communicate category strategies, aligned with business requirements and market conditions, to drive savings, value streams, and innovation opportunities.

  • Continuously refresh and update strategies based on internal and external sensing.

  • Incorporate savings and value streams into business commitments.

  • Ensure supplier selection aligns with sourcing strategies and has the necessary approval.

  • Coordinate and oversee strategic interactions with key individuals involved in supply chain operations to ensure alignment.

  • Incorporate third-party innovation activities and R&D initiatives into category strategies.

  • Take financial accountability for the assigned group of categories, ensuring price movement is managed effectively.

  • Lead negotiation planning, negotiation, and contracting with suppliers.

  • Coordinate supplier relationship management activities within the assigned group of categories.

  • Develop and maintain risk mitigation plans, including compliance, for the assigned category group.

  • Ensure optimal supply base compliance, including corporate procedures and legislation requirements.

  • Apply the source-to-pay process, including customer-centric support content and preferred payment methods, in sourcing strategies.

About you

To be successful in this role, you should be able to demonstrate:

  • Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in the healthcare industry

  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team

  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and colleagues within the organization

  • Strong understanding of effective procurement strategies and market trends

  • Proven track record of effectively implementing procurement strategies and achieving desired outcomes
