BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) Associate Director, Infrastructure Network Services in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey

Job Description SummaryThe Associate Director of Network Services (ADNS) reports to the Senior Director of Global Infrastructure Operations and is responsible for the planning, design, and oversight of the network technologies that underpin BD’s business operations and support an employee base of approximately 55,000 associates worldwide.

In this position, the ADNS will work closely with various IT leaders, business leaders and outsourced partners to ensure a consistent understanding of the impact of business operations, applications and network technologies to the business.

The ADNS maintains relations with sourcing partners and ensures that they meet IT service targets, business expectations, and contractual requirements, as well as evolving the partner relationship.

Job Description

Reporting to the ADNS is a small team of engineers with responsibility for maintaining network reliability, while evolving network technologies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee outsource partners to sustain and improve business trust by advancing the use of performance indicators to measure service levels, and improve reliability, availability, and performance.

  • Ability to understand and translate business needs into technical requirements.

  • Ensuring consistent performance and reliability of BD’s network technology infrastructure.

  • Ensuring adequate security controls are incorporated into BD’s network infrastructure.

  • Maintaining effective relationships with local and regional IT leaders and peers.

  • Continuous assessment and evolution of BD’s network infrastructure to ensure alignment with business requirements. Accelerate software-defined network technology to improve network computing infrastructure.

  • Supports business projects that require new or modified network infrastructure systems. Improve our agility and speed to “solution” infrastructure services – requirements-to-execution.

  • Evolves network standards and processes through the effective use of technology roadmaps, trending, and global governance.

  • Leads continuous operational process improvements provided by outsourced partners.

  • Manages the Network budget, network asset refresh, contracts, and investments to materially enhance BD’s overall performance.

  • Ensure high levels of performance and availability of network systems.

  • Ensure availability and performance metrics are met or exceeded.

  • Provides leadership, mentoring and coaching to team members.

  • Establish, implement, and ensure compliance with all security standards and policies.

  • Understand global network and related technologies and execute improvements, technology refresh programs, consolidations and optimizations relative to the shift of network data from internal data centers to cloud services.

  • Implement continuous improvement by utilizing a balanced scorecard and comparing performance metrics to external benchmarks.

  • Ensure smooth transition and introduction of new services and emerging technologies.

  • Promote Global Services vision and values at the forefront of decision making and action.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • You have managed the global network at a Fortune 500 company

  • You have managed a large outsourced service provider

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a FDA regulated environment

  • Technical acumen in the networking space
