Job Description Summary

General Function:

The role is responsible for accelerating internal capabilities within the SC planning organization and centralizing supply chain processes across manufacturing sites. This position will leverage scale, standardize production planning approaches, and utilize best practices from both inside and outside BD.

Ultimately, the role will:

• Support the Global Network Planners focus on day-to-day operations by utilizing best-in-class planning capabilities. Lead and optimize production planning processes and system implementations such as PPDS.

• Ensure value in the E2E SC transformation, contributing to more efficient and cost-effective production planning and scheduling.

• Support overall operational excellence within the organization.

The Production Planning Process Owner will work cross-functionally and benchmark against industry peers and thought leaders to tailor the most appropriate planning processes to achieve management objectives. They will lead optimization initiatives, foster cross-functional collaboration, and standardize methodologies across regions.

Key areas of focus include technology management, continuous improvement, risk mitigation, and stakeholder engagement. The role requires staying informed about market trends and industry developments to adapt strategies effectively.

Success in this role involves driving internal and external customer value, managing talent, and integrating into "The BD Way."

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the entire production planning process, ensuring it meets organizational objectives.

  • Design and implement efficient production planning processes and systems.

  • Continuously monitor and improve production planning processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, procurement, and logistics, to ensure seamless operations.

  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and improve production planning performance.

  • Identify and mitigate risks and bottlenecks in the production planning process.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Lead and mentor the production planning team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Utilize data-driven decision-making to optimize production schedules and resource allocation.

  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers and vendors, to ensure timely delivery of materials.

  • Travel: 30 - 50%

Skills and Competencies:

Process Excellence:

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Streamline operations, reduce waste, and optimize workflows across various departments.

  • Enhance organizational efficiency and effectiveness.

Systems

  • Efficient use of Microsoft Office

  • Good user knowledge on raw material planning, ERP (SAP/SCM) and reporting systems (Power BI)

People & communication skills

  • Strong communication and presentation skills and customize message based on audience.

  • Capacity to build strong relationships, foster collaboration, and influence stakeholders across departments to gain buy-in for demand planning strategies, drive alignment effectively.

General

  • Fluent English (writing, reading, speaking, and listening)

  • Local languages

Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in production management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Proven experience (8+ years) in production planning or related roles within manufacturing or similar industries.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years in a managerial or leadership position.

  • Strong understanding of production planning principles, practices, and methods.

  • Proficiency in production planning software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, MRP software).

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proven ability to lead, develop, and mentor a team.

  • Knowledge of supply chain management and inventory control processes.

  • Experience in cost management and budget planning.

  • Ability to develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement.

  • Familiarity with quality control standards and procedures.
