Job Description Summary

Reporting to the Global Master Data Governance - VP, the Operational Master Data Governance Leader will be responsible for overall Governance for Product/Material Master and Vendor Master domains, to drive business outcomes and support BD’s digital transformation journey.

Responsibilities

Candidate should be able to:

  • Provide leadership, vision and direction to the Product Master and Vendor Master teams including the extended teams of data stewards and business SMEs.

  • Provide thought-leadership to identify cross domain (Product & Vendor) opportunities that help ISC drive operational efficiencies and enhanced customer experience

  • Develop productive relationships with business steward teams across the ISC organization to influence how master data governance and quality can drive business outcomes and operational efficiencies

  • Define and enhance methodologies and practices as they relate to Master Data Governance, in accordance with industry benchmarks

  • Assess overall master data maturity of Integrated Supply Chain Organization and influence various leaders to drive organizational capability, prioritize data quality and governance to improve maturity levels

  • Continuously assess and improve all master data related processes across both Product and Vendor Master domains (CRUD: Create/Update/Delete). Identify and execute opportunities for simplification and automation.

  • Create a culture across teams where Master data professionals are focused on driving value for the business, through better quality data and its impact on business operations.

  • Own and drive global orchestration of prioritized master data efforts and CDEs (Critical Data Elements). Identify and remove obstacles, mitigate risks, and provide leadership visibility for flawless execution and solution delivery.

Skills

  • Strong communication skills with a proven ability to drive organizational change, specifically around master data management & governance.

  • Strong understanding of master data concepts as they relate to product/material and vendor domains, their inter-dependencies with operational processes and potential business impact/outcome.

  • Proven ability to simplify and communicate master data concepts to leadership and business operations teams, in terms of operational impact and business value.

  • Proven ability to collaborate, build relationships and influence individuals at all levels in a matrix-management environment

  • Strong organizational skills, the ability to perform under pressure and management of multiple priorities with competing demands for resources.

  • Strong analytical, data-processing, and problem-solving skills

  • Process orientation and proven experience in leading data-driven process improvement initiatives

Qualifications and Experience

  • 6-8 years of cumulative experience managing master data for product (material) and vendor domains.

  • 10+ years of operational experience across diverse areas within Integrated Supply Chain (Planning, Procurement, Logistics etc.)

  • 5+ years of managerial experience in leading and developing team members to build long term organizational capability in Material & Vendor Master Data Management

  • Proven experience in driving measurable business value through master data quality and process improvements.

Education and Training

An undergraduate or postgraduate degree in computer science, engineering, finance, business management or a related field.
