BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) Director, Quality Operations, ADDS Platform in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey
Job Description Summary
Reporting to the Vice President of Quality Management, the Director, Quality Operations, ADDS Platform provides leadership to people managers and technical associates at the ADDS manufacturing plant locations and at the ADDS Design Center (Quality Engineering of new product development, product maintenance & sustaining engineering, capacity expansion & line extensions). The role sets the Platform’s Quality strategy and assures alignment of tactics to achieve Platform objectives in accordance with WW Quality & Business objectives. Through outstanding communication, effective problem solving and active management of ambiguous situations the role ensures product design, safety and quality throughout the product lifecycle as well as product and process compliance with all relevant global regulations and customer expectations.
Participates as an active member of the BDM-PS ADDS Platform Leadership team.
Leverages a knowledge and understanding of the environment to develop actionable strategies for the ADDS Platform and for WW Quality.
Demonstrates strong big-picture thinking; effectively integrates and balances long-term opportunities and challenges with day-to-day activities.
Lead or influence quality networks, associates and capital resources toward the effective promotion and alignment of organizational and platform goals to the company’s mission and vision.
Proactively identify and work through escalated obstacles that may hinder the organization from focusing on and delivering their objectives.
Actively pursue up-to-date industry knowledge and implement benchmark and best-practice activities that maintain exceptionally high levels of product quality and compliance.
Ensure the quality organization is designed and resourced to fulfill its obligations and to comply with applicable regulations and procedures.

Responsible for developing and maintaining strategic quality and compliance plans for the ADDS manufacturing locations & Design Center.
Accountable for the effective execution of the Platform and WW Quality strategies by prioritizing and managing people, resources, and budget to accomplish expected requirements and performance across the ADDS manufacturing locations, the Design Center and throughout the product lifecycle.
Engage and provide leadership directions/objectives, coaching and personal development of associates to perform to their best ability and meet business and functional objectives.
Define framework for team objectives, operations schedules, processes, and budgets.
Build an influential and effective network of communication with worldwide functions to ensure alignment around business and functional priorities as well as design and plant specific ones.
Build an effective and influential network of communication with plant leadership in driving overall plant performance and harmonization relying on a strong culture of quality, continuous improvement and zero loss mindset.
Lead and collaborate with the R&D, WW Operations and PMO organizations in driving the product & process development processes to ensure the product meet customer and regulatory requirements while guaranteeing these are manufactured in a predictable and sustainable way at the ADDS sites.
Accountable to successfully manage product and quality issues throughout the product lifecycle.
Accountable for identifying quality improvement opportunities within ADDS manufacturing locations & Design Center and partnering cross functionally to develop and implement solutions; evaluate propose and implement new processes and technologies and alternatives to optimize efficiencies.
Accountable for adequate resources to fulfill obligations and compliance to cGMP, applicable corporate and regulatory requirements.
Develop a cohesive team, maintaining and reinforcing a strong quality culture. Interface with external customers and manage regulatory and corporate inspections.
Directs and controls the activities of one or more functional areas through designated managers who have overall responsibility for the successful operation of those assigned areas.
Typically requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering or other relevant discipline, with a minimum of fifteen years of relevant experience.
