Job Description SummaryAs part of BD’s Pre-analytical systems (PAS) overall annual strategic growth strategy, this key marketing role will drive strategic portfolio i.e Barricor(TM) and Cell & Biomarker Products success within the containment platform.. Primary responsibilities will include leading the efforts to develop and deploy global strategy to compete globally, driving growth through deep customer understanding and developing differentiation through sustainable innovation pipeline. This key marketing role develops and executes market shaping and development, evidence generation and clinical education to drive innovation roadmaps.

Role requires leading as a core team commercialization leader, cross functional team and engages worldwide/regional marketing partners, where they are jointly responsible for developing and maintaining plans and tactics to produce maximum sales, growth and profitability. This role will be responsible for directly managing and developing marketing associate.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategies to achieve or exceed business unit objectives for the product family worldwide. This will include identifying market needs, conducting competitive assessments, leading marketing initiatives and product portfolio optimization.

  • Drive adoption of currently launched new products as a core team commercialization leader.

  • Post launch activities such as funnel management, market development and shaping.

  • Develop and execute product innovation strategies, including identification of new product areas, developing business cases, leading initiation of product development efforts and new product launches.

  • Lead innovation cells to explore growth opportunities through sensing, working with corporate business development and other functions.

  • Develop and execute worldwide product positioning, including claims/evidence generation, and global communication strategies. Guide regional marketing teams in the development of annual marketing plans to ensure delivery of annual financial goals.

  • Manage ongoing product line support including issues resolution as needed.

  • Effectively partner and collaborate with regional marketing leaders, R&D, Clinical and Scientific Affairs, Business Development and other functions to ensure development and execution of comprehensive marketing and product strategy.

  • Identify and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders, customers, IVD companies , molecular diagnostics assay manufacturers, professional associations, consortia and advisory boards as needed to deliver against strategies.

  • Responsible for driving Clinical/KOL strategy for the business including maintaining KOL relationships and developing/influencing guidelines. This includes identifying KOLs to help develop claims that sustainably differentiate the business and ensuring that global guidelines drive clear and proper usage.

  • Performs global competitive analyses through evaluation of current competitive offerings, primary research with clinicians/customers and partnership with R&D to develop competitive claims that drive differentiation. Translates ideas into communication that can be utilized by global marketing and sales team to drive business in markets.

  • Collaborates with PLM to lead key SE projects ensuring proper resourcing and prioritization.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • MBA or Equivalent Experience Required

  • Degree or experience in life sciences research and molecular diagnostics preferred

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Product and/or Market Management in the life sciences industry with a consistent track-record of high performance and results

  • Business experience may include marketing, sales, sales training and business development.

  • Demonstrated ability to use analytics and market facts to develop business strategies and deliver results

  • Strong financial and analytical background

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong Customer focus including needs identification, value proposition development, training development, experience in the field with sales force and customers, and a bias towards responsiveness.

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills that are used to develop business strategies and marketing plans.

  • Ability to use sound, independent reasoning and judgment to establish work priorities and identify ways to optimize project timelines and to mitigate project risks/delays.

  • Ability to multitask and balance competing priorities in a fast paced, high-growth environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to independently identify, prioritize and successfully advocate for and execute opportunities that drive high growth or improved business performance.

  • Experience with innovation process, developing innovation roadmaps and driving innovation projects/initiatives.

  • Highly effective interpersonal skills and emotional Intelligence that have resulted in positive relationship building (particularly global), with the ability to work in a highly matrixed organization and to influence without authority.

  • Proven strategic thinking capability, including near-term and long-term portfolio strategy development, alternative analysis, and efficient resource management.

  • Experience in identifying market opportunities, market segmentation, completing competitive analysis, developing pricing strategies, preparing for product launch and commercialization, and developing go to market models and strategies.

  • Outstanding written and verbal presentation skills.

  • High integrity and ethics and strong fit with BD values.
