The Diabetes Care business of Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD; NYSE: BDX) is the industry pioneer and leader in the area of diabetes injection devices.
The Diabetes Care business unit has a 90-year history within BD and is unique in that it focuses on one important disease state which is a threat to world health. BD Diabetes Care has an unequalled reach and connection to diabetic patients and has well-established relationships with key diabetes stakeholders and influencers worldwide. Our injection devices provide 2/3rd of the worldwide insulin injections, serving our 30+ million global patient base.
BD Diabetes Care has leveraged deep expertise and advanced technologies to continuously innovate their injection portfolio and to design and pursue the development of an infusion product specifically tailored to the needs of type 2 diabetics. Their products are diligently designed to enable people who are living with diabetes and will benefit from comfortable, effective diabetes care.
Following an ongoing strategic review by BD's board of directors, and upon final approval by the Board, BD plans to spin off its Diabetes Care business creating a new publicly traded company focused on developing, marketing and selling products for diabetes treatment. NewCo will become one of the largest pureplay diabetes company in the world with a portfolio comprised of insulin syringes, pen needs, sharps containment and other consumable diabetes products and accessories and an R&D pipeline designed to meeting the needs of diabetes patients into the future.
The strategic roadmap for NewCo comprises of executing on three vectors: (1) strengthen the core business; (2) seek business development (inorganic) opportunities that can add to the product portfolio; and (3) bolster the organic product development pipeline. We will serve people with diabetes across the patient care continuum, working with physicians, nurse educators, pharmacists, retailers, payers & healthcare / governmental authorities.

This critical and highly visible role will manage a team of internal/external service providers/professionals. Additionally, he/she will be a member of the senior HR leadership team. The HR Service Delivery leader will lead all areas of HR employee services, including HR Transactions, Workday, onboarding/new hire processing, education assistance, relocation transactions/processing support.
This individual will make significant contributions to the team’s overall mission by driving innovation, sharing best practices and ensuring a positive experience for leaders, managers and employees. They will provide recommendations for process implementation, communicate progress to HR leaders and teams, document workflow, and identify process improvements. The successful leader will act as a change agent to promote innovation and continual improvement in HR Operations.
The Head of HR Operations & Service Delivery is responsible for managing HR Operations and driving continuous improvement in order to achieve higher quality and lower cost of services.
Set strategic design and delivery of HR employee services/transactions
Streamline the Human Resources experience by creating a single point of access to the shared services function for leaders, managers and employees.
Set targets for annual process improvement and drive efforts aimed at achieving these targets
Identify and migrate business processes existing in other HR functions. Ensure knowledge transfer and process quality. Oversee migration efforts to shared service organization
Establish and communicate process specific SLAs
Ensure response times/expectations are being met for internal customers
Create and develop a highly motivated workforce and positive team-oriented culture; leverage strong change management skills to successfully lead the shared service operations during periods of accelerated growth and continuous change.
Ensure end-to-end process flows are in place with clearly establish responsibilities across peer COEs
Use reports and metrics to drive meaningful discussions with internal customers.
Seek and utilize HR best practices relative to HR Operations
Leverage customer management tool to assess trends and themes in order to drive improvements to HR Operations
Partner with peer leaders of Compensation, Benefits, Talent and HR Business Partners to drive cross collaboration and efficiencies
Demonstrate creativity and innovation in applying solutions for the benefit of the business partner and employee
Manage relationships with 3rd party vendors. Partner with procurement on contract negotiations
Identify future technology solutions that will enhance productivity while reducing risk and expense.
Minimum of 15 years’ experience in an HR leadership position with strong operations/service delivery experience. A minimum of 5 years in a shared services model. A minimum of 5 years’ experience with Workday and Payroll preferred.
Undergraduate degree required
Proven ability to drive discipline and process orientation in a new organization; preferably experience migrating to standard processes
Demonstrated self-motivation, analytical, problem-solving skills and initiative to achieve desired outcomes
Previous global or international experience preferred
Able to work cross functionally and cross geographies to best delivery HR Services and a consistent employee experience
Effectively balance multiple tasks and constantly work with changing priorities
Exceptional project management, change management and continuous improvement skills required
Experience in managing outsourced service providers
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to develop credible and constructive relationships with peers, business partners and other internal stakeholders
Excellent and concise communication skills demonstrated with an ability to listen and communicate clearly, effectively, and persuasively in verbal and written presentations
