Job Description
The Global Trade Analyst position supports the Global Trade Compliance function in maintaining BD's import and export requirements and controls. The Global Trade Analyst must demonstrate import and export technical knowledge including HTS and ECCN classification. They must apply this knowledge and use discretion to determine classifications for materials and maintain accurate master data in SAP GTS. The Global Trade Analyst must exhibit strong research and analytical skills, often being able to interpret import and export regulations and conclude how they apply to BD, making changes to internal procedures accordingly. The Global Trade Analyst must review current processes and procedures while thinking critically for process improvement opportunities.
Perform Sanctioned Party List screening and analysis for customers, vendors, and transactional documents. Screen external business partners, reviewing and communicating results to the regions and escalating results when necessary to the Law Group.
As a GTS Super-user, the Global Trade Analyst will manage global trade data and provide systems support and maintenance.
Support GTS master data activities to include classification of materials (HTS, ECCN) as well as dataload support for critical integration projects.
Update HTS and ECCN assignments in accordance with U.S. Customs changes.
Manage data provider and work closely with IT to ensure U.S. Customs changes are uploaded into SAP GTS.
Perform Free Trade Agreement analysis by analyzing BOM components to determine if materials meet rules of origin to qualify for FTA preferential duty status.
Understand, interpret and apply FTA rules of origin
Conduct FTA determination/eligibility for internal and external customers
Perform material BOM analysis to qualify materials for FTA and execute FTA
Communicate with suppliers to request long term vendor declarations for externally procured materials
Perform financial savings analysis and communicate savings and opportunities to BD regions
Review and analyze system blocked documents, adding material classifications or license information as necessary.
Maintain and validate license information for licensable shipments
Analyze large amounts of data and generate and report key Global Trade Compliance metrics including:
ACE reports
Broker reports
Forwarder AES reports
BI Reports
Actively contribute to BD’s participation in CTPAT program.
Distribute and evaluate annual surveys to BD sites and external vendors
Conduct risk assessments of import lanes
Complete security profile in CTPAT portal
Assist in preparation for CTPAT validations
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Experience/ Education:
3- 5 years of import/export experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Information Science, or other related field or equivalent
Competencies :
Sanctioned Party List screening, HTS classification, ECCN assignment, master data hierarchy and flow.
Thorough, detailed understanding of USMCA and other Free Trade Agreements, and import and export regulations.
Familiarity with CTPAT minimum security criteriaand portal. Experience with validations preferred.
SAP ECC, SAP GTS preferred

Willingness to learn and interact with global teams (Bilingual preferred)
Certifications:
Customs Broker License (preferred)
