Serve as the main POC for the Business Units – leading strategic engagements at government sites. The position will require 50% or more travel to maintain relationships with Government agencies at multiple levels with respect to One BD view of sales calls, presentations, closings, transitions and customer assistance at a particular Government Account Community. Responsible for supporting/aligning team assets to support Business Units goals & objectives based on product. Coordinate with/through Government Leadership Team.

Responsibilities

  • GAM will be responsible for C-Level clinical and logistic relationships at Strategic Govt VA & DoD accounts, with a focus on the One BD message to drive sales across multiple Business Units

  • GAM will need to gain knowledge and experience across multiple product lines and business units, and be able to drive sales in their regional military network of Acute Care facilities

  • Ability to communicate and prioritize numerous opportunities across multiple platforms.

  • Functions as the 'technical expert' on how to prospect/win/conduct business with government entities at all levels.

  • Responsible for building and maintaining Government Account Community in a given geography

  • If given a “stretch role” may be required to make regular sales calls on key government procurement offices, design commands, Army Corps, NavFac, civil engineering offices and other agency offices as necessary to build productive business relationships with key decision-makers, and influencers.

  • Implements sales/marketing plans, strategically developed by leadership, to increase government market share.

  • Works with the sales team to facilitate quoting of BD products assigned to this position

  • Assures that quotes are complete and account for the requirements at each site.

  • Maintains Salesforce (CRM) information so the Commercial Field Leader & Vice President can accurately complete monthly forecasts of expected sales volume, by account, by product line.

  • Assists the local team in validating funding availability.

  • Assures that the contract pricing is maintained where applicable.

Requirements

  • Must possess strong problem-solving skills, be capable of handling multi-task projects in a high stress environment and meet aggressive deadlines within requested time frames.

  • Must preferably be, or become, an expert in Government acquisition processes.

  • Degree level qualification; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
