Summary

The role of the IT Business Analyst, Diabetes Care is to serve as the person responsible for analyzing demand as well as the delivery of Technology & Global Services (TGS) solutions for DC Commercial Operations. This individual will serve as a point person for Sales, Marketing and Service functions within DC to analyze, design and deploy capabilities for these functions. Above all, this individual will be required to collaborate with business SMEs, TGS architects and technical delivery teams to ensure that business needs are prioritized, shaped, and delivered. The incumbent will ultimately ensure the unique commercial capability needs of Diabetes Care to be competitive in the market can be delivered and aligned to the global technology strategy and platforms defined and supported by TGS.

This position reports directly to the Lead Business Partner, Diabetes Care and will serve on the US Business Partner team.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The objective of this role is to actively partner with the Diabetes Care business leaders, SMEs and TGS teams, with a specific focus on Commercial operations and solutions. The incumbent will partner with Sales, Marketing and Service to understand strategic priorities, develop an enabling technology strategy and positively impact the DC business objectives and targets for growth and internal simplfication. Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Develop a deep knowledge of the Diabetes Care commercial strategies, objectives / goals, short- and long-term roadmaps, key projects and personnel

  • Develop a deep knowledge of the Commercial Platforms and capabilities that are being utilized globally across other Commercial Organizations. Platforms include, but not limited to SalesForce.com, Marketo, Adobe, SAP Hybris and other solutions that drive the go-to market and customer engagement strategy.

  • Partner with the the Diabetes Care Business Unit and Regional sales and marketing leadership team and SMEs to plan new joint initiatives, evaluate proposals, and determine how they fit into roadmaps and priorities

  • Identify and define new opportunities to leverage technology and/or process re-design to advance business strategies that directly contribute to driving revenue growth, cost optimization and/or risk mitigation and compliance.

  • Develop technology strategies and plans that enable a digital sales force, omni-channel and enhanced customer engagement / intimacy through integrated solutions, analytics and/or new emerging technologies

  • Understand the go-to market strategy and dynamics within the Diabetes Care market, and partner with the business on optimizing current operations and drive increased market penetration through the development and deployment of new technology capabilities

  • Advocate for the business within TGS, and advocate for TGS within the business… the primary representative and accountable party for TGS services across business stakeholders

  • Work with other TGS business partner teams and external partner teams to define, document, analyze and prioritize existing and emerging business requirements

  • Complete the projects/improvements/deliverables needed to implement technology, processes or services to meet business requirements including the documentation, testing and implementation

  • Work with and facilitate TGS’ partner teams to ensure delivery provides the desired outcomes

  • Work with other TGS Business Partners and TGS’ Core Areas of Delivery to ensure that solutions are not siloed and that they are informed by, and are integrated with, BD’s enterprise roadmaps

  • Execute projects and report progress, including consistent and effective communication, change management impact analysis, readiness and effectiveness, cutover and go-live support. This includes managing escalation and mitigating risk

  • Measure and communicate value realized on a periodic basis through defined and agreed upon metrics and supporting analysis

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

The ideal candidate will bring a combination of strategic understanding, both business and technology experience, exceptional relationship building skills and solution-oriented mindset together.

In addition, this person should also possess:

  • 8+ years of experience in a business including work in one or more of the following technology areas: sales, marketing, customer service, within a Medical Device, FDA regulated environment.

  • Experience in the design, deployment and adoption of platforms across a global business: Salesforce.com (Sales, Service & Marketing Cloud); Marketo, Adobe, Digital Training & Education systems

  • Proficiency in system development life cycle documentation, testing and release cycle protocols including business requirements documentation, test scenarios/data/execution, cutover, hypercare, project planning and status reporting

  • Proficiency in project management basics: charter, business case development, project management plan and schedule, stakeholder management, communication planning, risk/issue management, status reporting and running team calls

  • Ability to influence and break down silos within an organization as well across organizations

  • Ability to understand the mapping of organizational vision and contribute ideas

  • Ability to communicate complex business / technical challenges in a simplified manner

  • Must be a leader who can influence stakeholders in written and oral communications

  • Basic experience and knowledge of change management principles and methodologies and have the ability to formulate new programs to generate excitement and engagement

  • Familiarity with continuous improvement and project management approaches, tools, and phases

  • Ability to lead change using positive and collaborative methods

  • Highly collaborative work style which includes working effectively across all organizational levels

  • Experience working in a highly matrixed organization and in overcoming ambiguity

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field is strongly preferred. Educational certificate or training in a process methodology is a plus
