Job Description Summary

The Supply Chain Technical Analyst, Control Tower within the Global Logistics & Trade organization is responsible for maintaining the ongoing operation and effectiveness of the Control Tower System (CTS). This role has high visibility in the Supply Chain Organization (ISC) and across all BUs. They will be one of the the global technical super users and process and data experts for the BD Control Tower platform. The associate will be the subject matter expert for the tool and the liaison for IT, Supplier and internal customers for all development requirements and implementation.

The Senior Analyst, Control Tower within the Global Logistics & Trade organization is responsible for maintaining the ongoing operation and effectiveness of the Control Tower System (CTS) focusing on the movement of product through the Supply and Demand portions of BDCT. This role has high visibility in the Supply Chain Organization and will be the global technical super user, process, and data authority for the BD Control Tower platform for shipments reflected in the tool. The associate will be the authority for the tool and the liaison for IT, Supplier and internal customers for all development requirements and implementation. The Analyst will help identify regional needs and communicate those to the technical lead for data harmonization. The Analyst will be aware of needs and nuances from multiple source ERP systems to help solution needs internally and with supplier for the BD Supply Chain shipment data consumed by the CTS.

Responsibilities:

  • Be the global super user, SME and process authority for the for BD shipment movements in Control Tower system (CTS) [BY Luminate]

  • Lead multi-functional team working sessions as needed for identification, documentation, design, and validation of To-Be data requirements for new projects where shipments are impacted in the CTS.

  • Responsible for detailed design validation and user acceptance testing activities of data related business’ needs change request, and issues raised for area of expertise through completion.

  • Develops training materials and leads training sessions for technical training to regional / business super users.

  • Documents work instructions for CTS related technical functions and/or new functionality.

  • Identify process improvement opportunities in the CTS space (Data Cleansing, process gaps identification).

  • Create support and change tickets with BD IT and BY Cloud services. Triage issues to owners within the team.

  • Support future enhancement efforts and reduce reliance on external consulting.

  • Become the Super User for CTS shipment reporting using the tools native to the system. Document, train, and mentor regions new to CTS to become independent on CTS reporting.

Competencies:

  • Solid understanding of the data related to end-to-end supply chain processes

  • Experience in supporting internal or external customers / providing data and /or reporting / problem solving

  • Experienced with and in Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Access, Power Point, Word, Power BI)

  • Ability to lead mid-sized to large scale projects (Agile PMP experience a plus) and to work independently on these projects concurrently

  • Good communication, interpersonal and presentation skills required to communicate on a global level effectively and comfortably with supply chain leadership, operational staff, and technical support personnel

  • Able to provide quality work solutions on time with limited information; tolerance for ambiguity and the ability to resolve complex problems with ease

  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects while working across multiple regions and time zones, and to hold regional staff accountable for key project turning points

  • The ability, desire, and tact to question the status quo and the creativity and initiative to contribute new ideas and solutions.

  • Incumbent must be able to work autonomously.

Experience:

Understanding Supply Chain Data end to end is a must:

  • 5 plus years relevant and recent experience in data or system integration in transportation, planning, in a global role or be part of teams implementing software logistics solutions.

  • A minimum of 5+ years’ experience in concentration on Transportation knowledge – Ocean, Heavy Air, Parcel, FTL, LTL

  • Experience with import and export related Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) processes is a plus.

  • Experience as a systems or business analyst with at least one of the following (TMS, SCM, ERP)

Education:

  • Requires BS/BA with a concentration in Information Technology or Supply Chain.

  • MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
