BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) Manager, Temperature Controlled Logistics (Cold Chain) in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey
Job Description Summary
Reporting to the Director, Temperature Controlled Logistics this position will understand the regulatory requirements and provide expertise to implement temperature controlled (cold chain) logistics strategy globally across multiple regions, business units and functions to ensure a cGMP and GDP compliant supply chain. This role will also collaborate globally to select, design, develop, qualify and implement temperature controlled shipping solutions. This role will manage multiple global projects to develop a harmonized, compliant and cost-effective temperature controlled supply chain throughout BD.
This position is remote and can be done from any USA location
Initiate, lead and implement projects required to efficiently and successfully execute the temperature controlled logistics strategy globally ensuring cGMP and GDP compliance
Collaborate with DC leaders worldwide to provide support in mapping storage areas for temperature and humidity
Develop and maintain a database of temperature controlled shipping systems used and approved within BD by temperature range, duration, lane etc.
Bring creative and innovative ideas and keep up to date with the latest innovations in temperature controlled supply chain, including but not limited to shipping systems, temperature monitoring including real-time IOT
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum: BS in Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics or related science discipline
7+ years of experience in medical device, pharmaceutical or other life sciences industry with at least 5+ years in temperature controlled (cold chain) packaging, logistics, supply chain or quality.
Flexible to work different time zones when needed for meetings with Global Members
Must have a deep understanding of active and passive temperature controlled packaging and shipping systems along with temperature monitoring systems including real time IOT systems
Must have hands-on experience in designing, developing and qualifying shipping systems and processes for refrigerated, frozen, and controlled room temperature products including IQ, OQ, PQ protocols and reports
Must be familiar with principles of qualification and validation, global regulations and guidance documents on temperature controlled supply chain (e.g. cGMP, GDP, USP1079, USP659, PDA-TR39, WHO, etc.)
Must have experience in a global environment, working across multiple cultures, especially collaborating on-line globally
Must have broad knowledge of supply chain
Experience with sustainable shipping solutions, highly matrix organization, and business case development is helpful

Must be able to travel within USA and internationally (estimated to be between 10% – 50%) as required to perform duties of the job
Six Sigma, Project Management, Packaging Science, and Supply Chain or Logistics certification is preferred
