Reporting to Director of Marketing, Non-Acute and Injection Systems, the Marketing Manager will lead marketing efforts for the Non-Acute business across all of MDS in the US Region. This is a very exciting opportunity to join the MDS US organization, and this specific role was designed to help drive revenue growth and value to our customers in the growing non-acute space. The individual will play a critical role in key projects/initiatives – often leading project/initiative teams and provide significant input for customer segment-related business decisions, resource requirements, and go-to-market strategies. The individual should demonstrate solid marketing acumen through a specific set of skills and working knowledge, e.g., branding, brand strategies and tactics, marketing communications, marketing planning and execution, business and financial acumen. Knowledge and experience with distributor relationships will be critical to effectively engage the market space where these distributor partners are a critical interface between us and our end-customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and manage marketing plans for the non-acute market to ensure the achievement of financial/budget expectations and product line strategies, including market sensing, market development and marketing mix

  • Utilize BD Way of Marketing tools and methodologies, develop and execute marketing strategies in existing, developing and new market segments (ASC, Community-Based Oncology, Physician Office, etc…) to achieve or exceed growth targets in dollars, units and gross profitability

  • Utilizing BD Way of Marketing as a methodology, evaluate the US internal and external market/competitive strategy and affirm or refine non-acute strategy and go-to-market elements to accelerate growth and product category share gain on an annual basis

  • Contribute to the development of expanded commercial value offers within the non-acute space to compete broadly within a competitive portfolio of products

  • Establish and maintain relationships with US based thought leaders, medical societies, and key internal/external stakeholders as required to stay updated on current and emerging trends in clinical practice, market trends and competitive trends

  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of, and active engagement with both end customers and our distributor partners that interface with them

  • Support US Region Customer/Account tracking, monitoring, and reporting in a cohesive and articulate manner; share account wins and losses, pricing adjustments, and synthesized opportunities and risks. The Marketing Manager provides on-going reports to Management

  • Provide insights and help manage demand drivers such as pricing strategy, contracting, distributor programs, omni-channel marketing communications plans

  • Provide leadership and progress US Large Account Opportunities as needed. Specific deliverables include development and successful implementation of strategies to convert major non-acute customers as well as IDN affiliated non-acute locations to BD.

  • Work with customer facing functions including, but not limited to, sales, customer service, corporate national accounts, and distribution management. Establish relationships with Distributors, Sales Consultants and other pertinent customers and partners to drive growth

  • Work constructively with internal functions including regional marketers, marketing communications, regulatory affairs, medical affairs, quality, finance and leadership

  • Support US Region sales team for opportunity progression and conversion management: ensure sales team has the support, tools and resources from the US Region Marketing organization to enable rapid conversion of major ongoing wins as well as defense against competitive activities

  • Ensure that all activities are consistent with the BD core values and comply with relevant internal and external corporate, legal, regulatory, and ethical standards

  • Support the preparation of contracts in conjunction with Commercial Integration, Sales and Marketing Management

  • Serve as the Marketing Core Team Member or Extended Team Member on key project teams. These projects span sustaining engineering projects and continuous improvement projects, to new product launches and product / business development opportunities as needed

  • Prepare budgets, forecast, projection, and project reports thoroughly and deliver on time to the relevant personnel

  • Develop and use market analyses and market research when necessary. Generate insights to help optimize marketing plans and go-to-market strategies

  • Provide work plans and project updates to Management on a standing and ad hoc basis

EXPERIENCE

Minimum Education

  • BS degree required. Business Administration or Marketing preferred

  • MBA or Masters is preferred

Minimum Experience

  • 5 years of deep experience in a commercially focused role (marketing, sales, distribution) across multiple functions broken down as follows:

  • Proven commercial capabilities in the medical device or healthcare industry

  • Experience in product or channel management, marketing strategy and execution

  • Experience utilizing market research for commercial tasks

  • Experience in developing and executing commercial marketing initiatives

  • Experience in regional marketing role or assignment preferred

  • 25% - 50% travel
