We currently have a Customer Project Portfolio Manager opportunity in Franklin Lakes, NJ. The role provides flexibility to work three days on site and two days from home basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to manage portfolio of projects to support achieving financial, growth targets and commitments while protecting core of the business.

  • Managing portfolio of projects and programs of the key NA pharmaceutical customers from the opportunity to commercial ramp-up to ensure business continuity and growth.

  • Maintaining project portfolio metrics, tracking, and reporting mechanisms. Leading projects portfolio reviews and health checks, making recommendations on prioritization and trade-off decisions to drive efficiency and performance.

  • Supporting the supply continuity, revenue expansion and business growth through product lifecycle management, risk mitigation, capacity and capability, customization project execution, in addition enabling up-sell, solution selling and new product adoption.

  • Acting as liaison between the BD and customers to maximize business revenue, performance, and the value creation.

  • Supporting customer needs in alignment with a well-defined technology roadmap and business priorities. Developing joint strategies to support customers drug-device combination product launches, capacity expansions and end to end change management processes at Pharma and Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs).

  • Working with the cross-company functions to articulate decisions and to analyze potential operational, business risks, financial impact, and opportunities.

  • Manage portfolio management tools such as key performance indicators (KPIs), 5 years of roadmap, project dashboard and portfolio file to measure performance and to maximize the customer experience.

  • Proactively identifies and retires projects risks ensuring on-time project executions.

  • Organize and manage relevant project forums with customers. Ensure that customer needs are well understood and timely addressed.

  • Lead development of the integration project plan with customers with clearly defined qualification requirements, and track customers activities, milestones, and constraints.

  • Work with the BD project teams and related functions to ensure flawless execution of the projects in scope.

  • Communicate internally and externally on projects achievements, metrics, risks, and mitigation plans. Ensure timely communications of decisions affecting customer commitments.

  • Maintain project portfolio metrics, tracking and reporting mechanisms to enable an integrated view of the project portfolio for assigned accounts.

  • Identify potential issues and risks across accounts and/or other project priorities and recommend resolution.

  • Develop risk assessment and mitigation plans and report to senior leadership to drive strategic execution and to achieve business objectives.

  • Identify, launch, and execute value creation initiatives aimed to increase level of partnership with key accounts.

  • Support account managers with upsell opportunities: manage the total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis, promote conversion to superior products and solutions while creating and articulating critical value points to customers.

  • Manage and support special project initiatives as assigned.

  • Apply consistently project management best practices and tools to drive predictable execution and customer satisfaction through:

  • Project deliverables tracking and control.

  • Hands-on management of project issues, decisions, and actions

  • Proactive risk management

  • Manage the interface between BD and customers for a capacity and capability program.

Qualifications:

  • BS degree required; higher degree preferred in a technical discipline (e.g., product development, engineering, manufacturing, etc.)

  • Minimum 5 years of related program, project, portfolio management experience with demonstrated success.

  • Understanding of medical device or pharmaceutical development and manufacturing is preferred.

  • Biopharmaceutical customer and industry knowledge.

  • Experience with the B2B customer facing environment is preferred.

  • Understanding of customers’ product and business needs.

  • Value mindset, including value provided to customers.

  • Strong experience in value selling.

  • Good level of business acumen.

  • Good communication and soft skills.

  • Ability to work in a cross functional/matrixial environment.

  • Ability prioritize and manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • The successful candidate will be self-confident, motivated and result oriented.

  • Must be able to travel 20% (includes international travel).
