Job Description Summary

This job can be performed remotely. The BD Control Tower (BDCT) Coordinator oversees the coordination resources required for new functionality and is a subject matter expert for, BD’s Control Tower system. Accountabilities include partnering with users and stakeholders to maximize the systems effectiveness, efficiency, and utilization; initiating, scheduling, supporting, and tracking projects to modify and enhance the system; managing and addressing system issues; driving adoption of the BDCT tool and generating reporting analytics from it. This role is also the BDCT SME for data and Analytics needs and output.

Partner with users and stakeholders to maximize the effectiveness, efficiency, and utilization of the Control Tower system

  • Works across every region and business to identify global requirements for new analytics tool functionality, develops prototypes to review with user team, and executes to completion based on user feedback.

  • Creates, delivers, and maintains training material and tools for utilizing BDCT. Helps drive adoption of BDCT and maintains trending data on usage and onboarding.

  • Organizes and maintains BDCT Team Site to ensure ease of use for Core Team and BDCT user group.

  • Develops communication strategy for BDCT Leadership team and User groups.

Supports projects to modify and enhance the system

  • Determine user requirements and the best method to achieve them. Helps develop projects including charter creation, requirements gathering, design, build, test and implement. Identify and help secure required resources from within GSC T&L and other functions (regional supply chain, BUs, IT, etc.) to serve on the project team and lead workstreams. Captures and publishes notes from project meetings. Provides status reporting to project plans, timelines, risks, and budgets. Ensure comprehensive change management plan is in place to maximize adaptation. Tracks and report project progress and prepares communications for leadership and user community.

Administer the system and resolves system issues

  • Works with BD Control Tower core team to troubleshoot issues through resolution, where process or data has negatively impacted functionality. Develops data driven view for recovery and tracking.

  • Manages internal and external databases for BDCT user Change Requests and Product Issues (Bugs), streamlines the process of entry through closure, reports on updates, ensures testing and updates form Core Team are captured on a timely basis, and provides analytics for leadership.

  • Communicates to user community on request updates and statuses, provides data for change activity for all requests.

Generate analytics and reports

  • Proactively identifies analytic needs for user groups and potential master data challenges using output from the BDCT tool to find solutions and address them ensuring successful process improvement.

  • Provides data needed to leadership and core team members for meetings such as Steerco, Regional and BU Adoption, User group sessions, and for new development sessions and provides communications output as needed to all levels of dependencies.

  • Expert for the BD Control Tower platform Analytics module, developing training and documentation to support the BDCT analytics KPIs for the user community.

  • Works directly with the BDCT Core team to ensure as new functionality is rolled out the supporting dashboard, reporting, and measurements are readily available with the promotion of the enhancement.

EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of 5 years relevant and recent experience in leading complex projects, beginning to end, and development of associated analytics / KPI reporting.

A minimum of 5 years’ experience in understanding of data related to the end-to-end supply chain processes and planning.

A minimum of 2 years’ experience data mining and working with large data to develop dashboards with concentrations in transportation, planning, or supply chain in a global role and being part of teams implementing software logistics solutions.

A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Supply Chain as a PM, data/systems, or business analyst with at least one of the following (TMS, SCM, ERP).

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Information Economics, Technology, Data Analytics, Business, or Supply Chain. MBA or other advanced degree preferred.

COMPETENCIES:

  • Understanding of the data related to end-to-end supply chain processes

  • Proven proficiency in data extracting, analysis of the data, and creation of dashboards in addition to expert in other Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, Power BI)

  • Ability to lead mid-sized to large scale projects (Agile experience a plus) and to work independently on these projects concurrently

  • Solid background in process design and documentation

  • Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills required to communicate and influence on a global level effectively and comfortably with supply chain leadership, operational staff, and technical support personnel

  • Able to provide quality work solutions on time with limited information to ensure data driven decisions; tolerance for ambiguity and the ability to resolve complex problems with ease

  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects while working across multiple regions and time zones, and to hold others accountable for key project milestones

  • The ability, desire, and tact to question the status quo and the creativity and initiative to contribute new ideas and solutions
