Job Description SummaryAs a leader within the SCG U.S. marketing team, this individual is responsible for driving and supporting the development and execution of the U.S. region marketing plan. This Senior Manager contributes to the U.S. Marketing initiatives by playing a key strategic role in the development and execution of clinical and operational integrated value offers/solutions, as well as corporate-wide initiatives to further advance the Region’s go-to-market strategies. Collaboration and outstanding communication skills are needed as this role will work closely with Business Unit Marketing and Sales Leaders, Corporate Marketing, Sales Teams, Training, and other business functions. Candidate must demonstrate leadership, ability to think strategically, and proficiency of marketing competencies.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Leads and manages the development of cross-segment integrated solutions that will include BDX products, services and capabilities.

  • In conjunction with BU Marketing and Sales leaders, leads and supports the development of C-Suite executive messaging across BD.

  • The marketing lead for U.S. Region-wide programs; such as (but not limited to) the Nursing initiative, the BD Safety initiative, and Customer Experience.

  • Oversees the activities of direct report(s) and/or other junior marketing team members. Actively works with these individuals to hone marketing competencies. Plays an active role in development and career planning of these individuals.

  • Connects regularly with BU Marketing teams to align with U.S. Region Marketing efforts, and provides input and updates to SCG Marketing Team.

  • Responsible for designing marketing material for SCG and National Sales Meetings; in charge of leading training and roll-out plan development for messaging and Value Offers.

  • Leads the development of marketing tools that support U.S. Regional marketing strategies; responsible for the development of various internal and customer-facing tools and materials created specifically for use by the SCG team (i.e. Customer PPT, iPad apps, marketing collateral, etc…)

  • Serves as a change agent in the development of new approaches that will bring best practices and solutions to healthcare providers across the care continuum.

  • Works closely with HEOR, Clinical Affairs, Legal, Finance, Contracting, and other corporate functions to best support new marketing initiatives.

  • Develops and utilizes market analyses and market research where necessary, and evaluates results to optimize the marketing planning process as well as summarizing and developing customer-facing marketing materials.

  • Ensures branding consistency across external and internal channels

  • Ensures that all activities are consistent with the BD core values and comply with relevant acts, legal demands, and regulatory and ethical standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, MBA preferred

  • Minimum of 8+ years of business experience in the life science or medical technology (preferred) industry. Business experience may include marketing, sales, sales training, business development.

  • Minimum of 3+ years of product marketing experience, U.S. region preferred

  • Strong customer-facing presentation skills – demonstrated ability to deliver engaging and impactful customer-facing presentation

  • Excellent analytical skills and high business acumen.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Experience developing customer facing tools (i.e. presentations and spreadsheets) that are impeccable in content and cosmetics

  • Success in navigating cross-matrix organizations – must be able to collaborate with various work teams to be effective. Works constructively with internal functions including Corporate Marketing, various BU sales and marketing teams, Legal, Medical, Finance, Regulatory, etc…as appropriate.

  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications - particularly Excel, Word & PowerPoint.

  • Well organized with good process management skills.

  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated strong team player.

  • Ability to travel 20-30% of the time.
