Job Description SummaryThe HEOR Sr. Analyst will be responsible for understanding the business needs of a cross functional organization, developing HEOR evidence strategies, and be able to lead the tactical execution of HEOR projects across the MDS business. The senior analyst will implement assigned projects through appropriate research design, project management, analysis, interpretation, and dissemination of HEOR evidence to appropriate stakeholders. The senior analyst will report to the HEOR Director in the MDS business.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement HEOR studies that support the clinical, economic, and customer centered value propositions for MDS products. Deliver priority HEOR deliverables in a timely manner, including but not limited to literature reviews, BD product level value assessments, evidence gap assessments, global value dossiers (GVDs), economic models, etc.

  • Develop value evidence strategies, including but not limited to observational studies, prospective clinical studies, retrospective data analyses, patient and healthcare worker outcomes studies, etc.

  • Liaise with cross-functional teams including marketing, market access, medical affairs and regulatory to define the value proposition of BD offerings

  • Ensure that scientific data resulting from the execution of health economic / epidemiology / outcomes studies are appropriately positioned in the public domain. Plan and execute publication plans

  • Interact within clinical development and medical teams to provide insight into health technology assessment requirements and guide execution of health economic data collection. Provide HEOR input into BD clinical studies

  • Assist in the training of internal stakeholders (e.g., regional sales and marketing teams) to activate HEOR materials to support the value of BD offerings

  • Provide project management support and guide internal HEOR Center of Excellence (COE) resources / external vendors to execute strategies

  • Interact with external thought-leaders and government/payer groups to conduct research, develop advocates and/or provide evidence dossiers to support product coverage and adoption

  • Respond to and manage global HEOR requests

  • Supervise junior HEOR associates and fellows training and project execution

  • Represent HEOR department on internal working teams and with external agencies (as needed)

Education & Experience

  • Candidate must have an advanced degree in a healthcare, business or economics related discipline (MD, PhD, MSc, MPH, and/or MBA). Relevant disciplines include medicine, pharmacy, health services research, health administration, economics, epidemiology, and healthcare policy. Additional requirements include:

  • Candidate must have a minimum of 1-2 years total work experience in the life-sciences/healthcare industry (examples include biopharmaceuticals, medical devices, hospital, clinical research, or HEOR consulting)

  • Experience supervising junior HEOR staff is preferable

  • Experience of working in a cross functional groups in a healthcare consulting, or pharmaceutical or medical devices setting is required

Knowledge & Skills

  • Full understanding of HEOR work concepts, principles and practices with significant experience executing priority programs with moderate to high complexity and visibility

  • Expert research and analysis skills required including; literature reviews, gap assessment, secondary data analysis methods, poster and manuscript writing, writing GVDs, developing value stories and value messages, reviewing and writing clinical study protocols, reviewing and writing statistical analysis plans, working with excel spreadsheet models

  • Experience with clinical outcomes assessment and supporting regulatory and reimbursement stakeholders is a plus

  • Able to guide project teams in multiple technical areas (modeling, literature and data analysis, etc.)

  • Superior communication, interpersonal, and organizational/administrative skills, including experience in teaching and training internal colleagues, and presenting to large groups

  • Proficiency in project management and in negotiating project budgets, leading projects and project teams to timelines, be able to scope and budget independently.

  • Action-oriented, customer-focused, with effective prioritization, goal-setting and time management skills

  • Effective analytical/problem solving skills, including generation of original and innovative ideas and solutions
