Job Description Summary

Reporting to the VP End to End Supply Chain Excellence, the incumbent will be accountable to drive timely execution of high impact business process projects that deliver tangible outcomes and transform associate and customer experience.

Program Management Office: The incumbent will stand up a Program Management Office to systematically execute strategic end to end supply chain excellence programs on-time and under budget with a high sense of accountability and discipline. He or she will implement consistent measurement system and tracking to ensure end to end supply chain programs deliver the business value defined in the program charters. He or she will manage global stakeholder communication in a consistent and timely manner.

End to End Process excellence: Working closely with VP End to End Supply Chain Excellence, the incumbent will simplify and standardize integrated supply chain processes to accelerate BD growth priorities and unlock customer value. He or she will play a pivotal role in enabling BD global supply chain’s journey to become a demand driven value network (DDVN) that maximizes value of and optimizes risk across end-to-end supply chain processes.

The incumbent will be an integral member of the End-to-End Supply Chain Excellence Leadership team. He or she will have responsibility to lead, coach and mentor team members, both as project team members and as direct reports.

Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES

Implement a results-driven Program Management Office (PMO group)

  • Accountable to deliver business value from end-to-end supply chain projects through on-time and under budget delivery.

  • Work closely with the Global Supply Chain leaders to develop ISC strategy for supply chain performance transformation.

  • Partner with business, region & central teams to build a high-impact portfolio aligned with ISC strategy.

  • Set program governance to drive planning, execution, and successful delivery of the ISC program portfolio.

  • Manage scope, resources, and budget through program dashboards for consistent measurement and reporting.

  • Manage program risks ensuring timely risk mitigation and consistent communication to stakeholders.

  • Champion monthly project reviews and key program deep-dives with well documented action items and follow through.

  • Liaison with other ISC functions, IT, Finance, Procurement & Commercial orgs to improve end to end processes.

  • Deploy program teams to define, control and mitigate the risk impacts ensuring successful outcomes.

  • Facilitate senior leadership meetings and/or cross-functional workshops to resolve program risks.

  • Coach program managers in risk management and communication savvy.

Drive high accountability execution structure.

  • Manage senior project managers and/or highly experienced professionals

  • Inspire action and influence project managers to accomplish project goals on-time and under budget.

  • Implement a measurement system to improve accountability and achievement of program goals.

  • Establish and maintain approved project/program/portfolio financial budgets.

Facilitate strong teams in a matrixed organization to create business value.

  • Leverage BD strong teams operating model to create business value across businesses, regions, and central teams.

  • Engage business units, regions, and central teams in continuously updating the program portfolio.

  • Lead higher level associates and teams through program conflicts to drive successful outcomes.

  • Get things done through both formal channels and the informal network.

  • Partner closely with project sponsors to build confidence in successful program execution.

Drive end-to-end supply chain process excellence mindset.

  • Simplify, standardize and automated deliberately prioritized global supply chain processes.

  • Execute end-to-end supply chain process initiatives to improve global information and physical flow.

  • Partner closely with global business and regional stakeholders to unlock business value from process improvements.

  • Collaborate with support functions to strengthen interfaces and align process integration priorities.

  • Develop global supply chain process standards and streamline system support.

Communicate with clarity, and commitment to excellence.

  • Drive clear and effective communication with organizational leaders at all levels.

  • Manage conflicts when opinions differ, and stakes and/or emotions are high.

  • Simplify the messaging to communicate business project value.

  • Facilitate workshops to drive successful project outcomes.

Grow program management talent in the End-to-End Supply Chain Excellence organization

  • Build Human Resource Planning (HRP) roadmaps and career blueprints to grow and develop talent.

  • Promote inclusion and diversity in talent retention, hiring and promotion processes.

  • Mentor and coach future supply chain talent on a continuous basis.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

EXPERIENCE:

  • 10 years’ experience in areas of program management and portfolio management in the healthcare industry.

  • 15 years of supply chain experience in areas of demand planning, supply planning, or production planning.

  • Experience managing highly experienced program managers

  • Experience coordinating highly complex cross-functional projects directly linked to business key driver goals.

  • Experience with senior level & executive management

  • Experience with geographically dispersed and multi-site teams

  • Experience working in matrixed organizations preferred.

  • Agile methodology experience preferred.

COMPETENCIES:

EDUCATION:

  • BS / BA in business administration, engineering, logistics, operations management or related degree required.

  • Master’s degree in business administration, engineering, logistics, operations management or related degree preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.

  • Six Sigma and/or Lean Certification preferred

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience using project tools and software (i.e.: Microsoft Project, and Project Server/Project Online).

  • Proficient in the use of all MS Office tools (Email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.)
