The Global Total Rewards team at BD works collaboratively across a team of Total Rewards and HR professionals, designing programs intended to enable superior business results through a performance-based culture. We listen to our internal stakeholders and collect their feedback to continually improve and enhance our programs through a two-way dialogue. Combining internal data, stakeholder feedback and external competitive data, we make large-scale decisions that impact BD associates and the business in a meaningful way.
This role will develop, enhance and execute BD’s global compensation processes and systems. Building relationships is critical; the incumbent will work closely with the Compensation team (including regional Total Rewards team members), the Associate Service Center (ASC), the HR Solutions team and the HR business partners. The incumbent must be able to handle sensitive and confidential information in a professional manner.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Serve as Global process and functional owner for global compensation structure, programs and processes; provide consultation and oversight for local processes
Serve as the lead liaison between the Global Compensation/Total Rewards Center of Excellence (COE) and the Associate Service Center. Work with the ASC to drive compensation process efficiency and excellence.
Develop and lead the annual compensation cycle. Identify, prioritize, and collaborate with HR Solutions and the ASC to test system and process enhancements for the upcoming cycle. Leverage Workday and compensation knowledge to provide oversight to the data verification process prior to the cycle. Collaborate with HR Solutions to update manager and HR training materials on both the system and the process. Develop change plans and communications prior to and throughout the cycle. Develop infrastructure to ensure HR Business Partners and regions are supported during the cycle. Collaborate with ASC to ensure seamless integration with local payrolls.
Serve as the functional global compensation subject-matter expert on Workday, collaborating with HR Solutions to lead the development of global compensation processes and systems integration. Provide expertise and guidance to regional acquisition integrations; approve system/process changes to ensure any configuration changes do not adversely impact global compensation systems or processes. Continue to drive Workday optimization projects related to bonus plans and recurring allowances.
Ensure salary ranges, job structures and other critical compensation architecture in Workday reflects the most recent plan designs and processes. Partner with HR Solutions to load salary ranges into Workday and to set up the logic to link associates to the correct range. Introduce guidelines for merit and off-cycle increases based on position in range. Develop and deliver global training materials.
Influence the development of and manage the global annual pay equity process. Work with external vendor and internal resources to define scope. Develop data requirements and work with the Associate Service Center (ASC) to provide BD data to the vendor. Ensure that any market adjustments are included in the annual compensation cycle. Develop solutions to enable quicker calibration and implementation of resulting pay changes.
Manage special projects as needed.
Advanced proficiency in Excel, including developing complex models; proficiency developing presentations
Knowledge of compensation practices in global multinational companies
Expertise with Workday’s advanced compensation module
Bachelor’s Degree required; GRP, CBP or CCP desirable
8+ years of progressive compensation experience
At least 5+ years of which in a compensation experience in a in a mid-large corporate setting
Global Compensation experience required
Experience working in a Shared Services environment (i.e. Service center, Center of Excellence, HRBP Partnering model)
